so i bought this cheap as fuck off a friends dad, with enough spares to build a couple more, and i've decided to get one half decent one at least out of it seeing as i've got most of the ingredients to do it, then see what i can do with the rest of the stuff when i collect it... theres seriously a lot of parts. shed, loft and garage completely full.

engine done a couple of hundred miles since a full engine rebuild, confirmed, as i was there as it was rebuilt... runs schweet.

Heres how the bent one arrived courtesy of Mr. M Benz and a trailer friend.

subframes a little bent...
https://img688.imageshack.us/img688/9092/06022010006.jpg

plus, a bit squashed from the front too... but i have new forks to go on.
https://img134.imageshack.us/img134/3959/06022010005.jpg

just chillin' alongside its new body...
https://img59.imageshack.us/img59/5609/06022010007.jpg

new frame, in need of a powdercoat or paint or something...
https://img218.imageshack.us/img218/7091/13022010015.jpg

and how its staying until the new frame has been sorted...
https://img694.imageshack.us/img694/5695/13022010016.jpg

then i have these to go on it, which are in fucking good condition. not quite mint, but near enough.
https://img14.imageshack.us/img14/2990/13022010018.jpg

with this for a milage...
https://img16.imageshack.us/img16/7783/13022010017.jpg

so... things to do...

> get frame painted
> frame transplant
> build some hideous contraption from what i have left.
... thats about it.

its pretty much finished apart from that.

Matt,

I'm sure I've said it before but your a man of taste.

Out of interest, what do you do for a living? Are you a mechanic?

You seem to have a bundle of projects on the go at one time, can you just not say no to a bargain? =)

more pics incoming anyway, i spent a couple of hours building and stripping stuff and its almost a rolling chassis.

touched up the frame, looks all nice now, ish.
i figured theres no point in stripping it, plastic coat/powder coat. i did however wire brush and sand to bare metal before primer and paint though.

then started fitting a few bits. i think i need to invest in a set of spanners/larger sockets, as i have 2 toolkits... one i've had since i was 16 and is now scattered all within a 1/2 mile area, and the other is my halfords £50 toolbox thing that only goes up to 19mm / 3/4". useless really.

swapped the bearing races and yokes, front end etc. i think i lost a wheel spacer though.

the donor
https://img502.imageshack.us/img502/4826/14022010023.jpg

the swingarms held on by one bolt that i need a bigger spanner for, then i can transplant the whole rear end in one big shanizzle.

tbh a days hard work will see it finished.
so i predict the rest of this thread to be pretty boring.
everythings been greased before fitting, no hard to remove bolts... never did i think id ever consider seized bolts to be ''fun'', but they make projects more interesting. it gets boring when you're trying to take out a bolt, then... it just comes out.

todays efforts. got a hand from a friend for literally the fastest build up you've ever seen. it took about an hour and a half to get from where it was in the previous pics to how it is now.

because i stole the wiring to go in the mito, i'm going to have to go and grab some more parts to finish this one. primarily, a sidestand... note the pole

The forks look bent? Inwards towards the frame?

Guess it's the photo.

You're right, they are different, but the only difference i see is the xj600 has circles in the spokes, where the rd350 has 1 big cut out.
