Track Standing

So i went out on the bike earlier for a play an there was a guy on a KTM 200 trackstading for nearly a minute at a red light. I was rather impressed so decided to have a try.

I can manage about 8-10secs from a dead standstill and about 12 from a rolling start. This is on the CRF.

What about you guys how long can you stand still for? (feet up obviously)

If KTM person managed a minute, suspect he’s done some trials at some point . If it’s a KTM 200, it’s quite likely to have low pressure trail tyres on – from reading on trials forums, the low pressure definitely helps with this.
I’m not that good with it, though possibly not ideal that I’m generally trying on a sports bike .

Not sure how long I can it, but used to be able to do it easily on my pedal bike.

On a push iron yeah its easy as, on a proper bike its not so easy.

I think I could do 10 seconds alright though. A lot of riding recently has been with pillion and I still manage it ok then. I want my bike now so I can give it go and see how long I can hold it for. I bet the style of bike helps a lot, something easier to stand up would help I'd imagine.

its a hell of a lot easier with the engine running and using the clutch than it is with the bike as a dead weight.

that doesn't count man! The engine is the added weight making it harder to keep upright. haha
