Rebuilding my mate Ken's VH 500 1958 Ariel. We stripped her down over Christmas and have done the following.......
New rings, new valve guides and valves, re-cut seatings, new small end, my modified seal set.
A bike that was a reluctant starter when cold and a bitch when hot is now a second kick goer. Ken is as happy as a dog with twin dicks and I know that the bike is good for another 20K miles.
A good day in the shed. Very Happy

I prefer the 36 but you are right about Ken.
He told me that he feels he does not play an active place in the club and contributes less than a lot of us. In fact he shuttles parts about, picks bits up from the foundry and most important lets me get pissed on branch night when he is driving.
Good bloke Very Happy

Its the high level zorst and the interesting suspension at the front that made me prefer the '36 350. I'm shallow like that.
And of course, red is fastest. Embarassed

It won't be long before i'll need a Ken to collect bespoke parts for my bike. But i did manage to get some grabrails for the CB250RSA. Finally 100% original.
