Best place to buy visors?

I'm looking for a tinted visor that will fit my HJC CS-R1 helmet, but i've looked online, and i can't seem to find anywhere that does them?

Any idea?

By looking at most HJC visors, the HJ-09 does seem to be the only one with the lock button, which the CS-R1 helmet has.

So is the HJ-09 visor compatible with the CS-R1?

Would want to buy the wrong one...

Personally I wouldn't prat about with inserts I would just bite the bullet and buy the proper visor. Worth it in the long run imo

Yeah, i'm going to give the inserts a miss, i read the feedback, they don't fit some helmets, and you have to cut them to the shape of your visor, which is why i think you'd be better off with the real thing.

I'm gonna go for the silver tint, bit pricey, but i should think it's worth it.

I want to look around first, could get an aftermarket one instead of geniune, might be cheaper on other sites too, but i'll keep those mentioned, in mind

Silver tint scratches really easily it will look like shit in a couple of months stick with the dark tints.

I have ALWAYS used race visors and got free visor bumbags with all my orders. Their aftersales is second to none. I had pinlock pin work loose on my old shoei cx1v visor, they sent me replacement pins free of charge. Delivery times are reasonable too considering it's free delivery.

Always go for black purely because there's not so much of a colour shift with dark tints. Dark tints are usually pigmented in greenish/blue hues. Silver tints require a vapour deposited layer that's got a brown-yellow tinge before they apply the mirror coat. It's this interface that messes about with colour recognition. Sometimes I couldn't tell if a light was amber... or if the car in front was braking or indicating.

I know that you can get yellow/orange high contrast visors, but when it transmits less light, I know it buggered stuff up for me slightly

£42 for a Dark tint visor, it seems a bit pricey?

After looking at it in the long term, and what you said Titz, i'm going to go for Black, but is it darker than in the picture, because that doesn't look very dark to me?

Jay, the HJC Samurai is the CS-R1, because i chose between the HJC Samurai and the HJC Fang, they're just different graphics.

If the price was a bit lower, i'd go for racevisors, because backing up what Mark said, my helmet actually cost £50 on eBay, from Ghostbikes, and the visor costs £42! I may aswell get a brand new helmet!

I'll look around more, might just look for a cheap helmet on eBay that has a tinted visor, because i don't want the inserts.

I only bought my lid about 6 months ago and it was £120 then, that's quite a price drop in 6 months.

I got the silver smoked irridium from racevisors by the way, not as reflective as you might think. If you want it so it looks like a reflection from the outside, go for the rainbow or violet one. I think I'll get the violet one next, as it will go with the reds in the helmet graphics.
