I fail to see the difference other than the microfiche diagram is placed side by side rather than all inline, no doubt to save space on the microfiche. The parts are all the same and they're in the same order.

whoever put those together has put the washer and plastic bit the other side of the tubey bit. thats the only thing i can see thats different in the pictures.

the manual and microfiche show the same parts in the same order, but as said above, side by side in onw to save space

The function of the pictures on the parts fiche are to make it easier to identify part numbers. It shouldn't be used as an assembly guide but having said that, the diagram makes perfect sense anyway.

Hi

Agree with Phoenix. Both show exactly the same thing. Just that the fiche is showing it as 2 columns, so you go down the first column then down the 2nd column.

If anyone had only seen the workshop manual and tried to put the forks together, they would have screwed up their forks.

Nope as said manual and micro fiche are the same (albeit fiche is side by side ) so if you can follow a diagram correctly then there would be no problem.

Agreed, and would say if you put it together according to the fiche photograph (rather than as the fiche and manual say) then the plastic supporting bush (looks like it is there to support the damper rod half way along its length) and washer are going to be useless.

I guess its hard to see where its wrong unless you can see the diameters of each part.

Nothing will fit over the outer tube, the plastic spacer bit is supposed to just cover the end of the tube.

at least this thread shows who can see these diagrams in 3D

The worst was my Yamaha TDM service manual, One of the bushes in my forks (holds the oil seal at the bottom) just wasn't in it. It wasn't on the microfiche either I went you yamaha trying to get a new one and they told me it didn't exist

this is how its done correctly, the way the microfiche shows.
Bear in mind that the 2nd column on the microfiche diagram shows what slides inside the outer sleeve, and dont forget they are USD forks.
