This is my CG

I bought it a year ago with 1200 miles on it. It has taken me comfortably and with the piece of mind of an indestructible engine to places I would of never seen and has now got close to 6000 miles. Every single mile was traveled with a huge smile on my face Very Happy.

The only time it stopped working was on the A13 when I forgot that it needs petrol to run Embarassed

Since I had it, I tried to improve it as much as I can, and now that I've made all the pictures I thought its time to share everything with the BCF community that has loads of CG125 fans Cool

So here it goes:

Added a side stand

https://i951.photobucket.com/albums/ad356/AdrianP2201/CG125/IMG_0374.jpg?t=1266692562

Givi A660 Screen. One of the best things I ever did to this bike.

https://i951.photobucket.com/albums/ad356/AdrianP2201/CG125/IMG_0393.jpg?t=1266692614

Mud Flap. Saves loads of crap getting thrown onto the bike. Also added a chrome trim to the front fender:)

https://i951.photobucket.com/albums/ad356/AdrianP2201/CG125/IMG_0388.jpg?t=1266692708

Tail tidy with red reflector stuck above the number plate.

https://i951.photobucket.com/albums/ad356/AdrianP2201/CG125/IMG_0375.jpg?t=1266692971

Chrome trim all around the tank. Gives it a really nice finish.

https://i951.photobucket.com/albums/ad356/AdrianP2201/CG125/IMG_0396.jpg?t=1266693087

Clocks, headlight and screen trim.

https://i951.photobucket.com/albums/ad356/AdrianP2201/CG125/IMG_0405.jpg?t=1266693209

Tank pad.

https://i951.photobucket.com/albums/ad356/AdrianP2201/CG125/IMG_0384.jpg?t=1266693361

More chrome trim Smile

https://i951.photobucket.com/albums/ad356/AdrianP2201/CG125/IMG_0383.jpg?t=1266693472

Iphone mount. Great "GPS" (unless it rains).

https://i951.photobucket.com/albums/ad356/AdrianP2201/CG125/IMG_0398.jpg?t=1266693567

Wheel restoration: Took both wheels off, used Autosol to polish everything, gold painted the bottom of spokes and painted tire.

https://i951.photobucket.com/albums/ad356/AdrianP2201/CG125/IMG_0175.jpg?t=1266693767

https://i951.photobucket.com/albums/ad356/AdrianP2201/CG125/IMG_0386.jpg?t=1266693964

And more pictures Very Happy

https://i951.photobucket.com/albums/ad356/AdrianP2201/CG125/IMG_0366.jpg?t=1266694003

https://i951.photobucket.com/albums/ad356/AdrianP2201/CG125/IMG_0410.jpg?t=1266694080

https://i951.photobucket.com/albums/ad356/AdrianP2201/CG125/IMG_0411.jpg?t=1266694227

https://i951.photobucket.com/albums/ad356/AdrianP2201/CG125/IMG_0402.jpg?t=1266694617

https://i951.photobucket.com/albums/ad356/AdrianP2201/CG125/IMG_0361.jpg?t=1266694647

I also replaced the brake pads with organic ones. Makes a great improvement to the braking power.

I use the Shell V-power fuel that gives me that extra bit of power when racing people off the lights Very Happy

That's all people. Hope you enjoyed it. Smile I'll add more as I continue my CG improvements Wink

Oh wow... that is one incredibly blinged up CG! I doubt the more expensive fuel makes a difference by the way, and with the money you would save on buying the normal stuff maybe you wouldn't have run out on the A13 Wink surely that's what the reserve tank is for also? It's not as if it's a very long road either, or doesn't seem like it when I travel it.

It certainly looks pretty but this bike would not be for me. I love the iPhone mount (I have to stop to look at mine) but other than that I love riding a naked bike so I'm not sure I'd want the screen and certainly wouldn't want the chrome. I'm happy that my bike gets abused cosmetically as I take it thousands of miles and through country lanes, forests and fields. I'm sure you're very proud of it though and the resell value will be excellent!

One thing I think I really do want though is the better tires.

I'd do the screen, stand, mudflap and tank pad. The gold spoke nuts and chrome trim are bearable, but the white lettering on the wheels tips it over the edge. Next stop neons Smile

Thank's a lot for the comments everyone Very Happy

The shell v-power makes a lot of difference Alexio...try it if you want. The CG is so economical that it doesn't make a huge difference budget wise. Smile

Got the screen here Jamie:

I really don't think high octane fuel would make all that much difference to a CG. It's a tiny 125cc engine, not particularly tuned or has amazing compression and I was under the impression that in some cases the valve timing is already adjusted for normal fuel and therefore when using a more combustible fuel you can can actually make things worse (or is higher octane fuel just more dense / burns for longer?).

There's a high probability that I'm wrong or misunderstanding but I accidentally put a couple litres of the more expensive stuff in my CG to make it home last month and I noticed absolutely no difference. That could be because my engine isn't exactly in the best of shape right now but still, that might make it all the more likely that I should have noticed a difference no?

Ultimately I'd just like clarification / solid numbers Smile

i thought the octane rating was something to do with the resistance to detonation Thinking

as said, a bit too blingy for my tastes, but nonetheless a good little workhorse Thumbs Up

Considering that people at work tended to think my CG had solid rubber tyres and used BBQ charcoal as a fuel, I'd tend to agree.

Ah, this always makes me angry. Whenever someone calls my CG a moped I just go off on one, explaining shouting at them how many miles I've done, it's top speed and how it's more than capable of killing them at 70MPH if I told them to try and navigate the A21 at that speed!

They normally don't understand Confused

I didn't care either way, just pointed out all the great things the little beasty had:

- Shocks

https://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y51/whers84/DSC01050.jpg

- Pegs

https://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y51/whers84/DSC01053.jpg

- Lucky

https://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y51/whers84/DSC01051.jpg

Pedro at work then asked whether I'd ever taken it off some sweet jumps.*

*If you haven't got a clue what I'm going on about, this would all seem, very weird.

I really agree, and it really gets up my nose lol
If i walk into work, people will say you on your scooter?
Because i'm young and have a helmet, i then carry on to say no its a 600cc, they just look at me with a blank face a just stil presume its a scooter lol. Grrrrrr!

To be fair, what normally helps in this situation is a confused look followed by "um, no, I've never ridden a scooter in my life. Aren't those the things that can't go faster than 30?".

Heh ... I've given in to it ... it's easier just to call it a (or "the") 'ped, because then people understand it as a not entirely powerful bike that still isn't scooter-shaped. Plus if I'm trying to say which one's mine, and we're not in pointing distance, most non-riding folk will have seen it and assumed as such, with a small but odd minority thinking it's much beefier and powerful than it actually is. I mean, i haven't the smallest or most lithe frame, haven't got a screen or any fairings, my coat is cordura and I tend to have a backpack AND a tailbag, so maintaining 60 to stay out of the way of traffic can be difficult enough.

Still, that's a nice job there Very Happy Though likewise I wouldn't do it - the chrome on the shocks and zorst already give me enough of a nightmare polishing-wise. (I'm the type whose car doesn't get cleaned until the parts of the screen not swept by the wipers are opaque BTW).

Several questions abound... like, what and where cometh the sidestand? Does it have a switch? What happened to your cargo rack? And, considering all the clues, are you the mysterious nameless one behind that super useful awardspace site that I've made much use of and, should I remember what it was, was going to send a contribution in to? (no, actually, don't answer that, I like the suspense Smile)

On the petrol front, I must say I'm torn. I can't really tell much difference, but then I forget to look for it and haven't set up any kind of vaguely scientific tests. (Plus it's off the road at the moment, the inner tube having punctured AGAIN - 4th time in <6000 miles, is this normal? Taking the wheel down today in fact). What I can say is I've been suspecting the engine of pinking for a while now, at full throttle and advance, particularly on bogstandard fuel. Might be because I forgot to check the valve clearance at the last oil change (having set it right before), maybe the carb or timing ('06 model, mind) needs adjustment, I don't know. But if it ends up running smoother and quieter at full chat on the "Maximus" or whatever poncy name Tesco have just given their 99RON superfuel, then we'll have an answer.

Oh, and...er.. Hi all! Mr. Green

First question, why is that CG living in a pub?, is it a very long bar?
second question, what is the outside diameter of those forks? ie will they fit an earlier model?.

a very nice bike, but a tad to blingy for me.

people/family all call my CG "the pop pop!"

Lol, I keep it in a room separate from the pub but for the photo shoot I took it in Very Happy .

I don't know the answer to the second question but if I find out i'll post it.
