 |
|
Ive found plenty of places to buy a tinted visor on the net for my Shoei Raid 2. All similarly priced. However, I like my visors 'dark'. Had one for a KBC and was perfect. Looked almost solid black from outside but excellent visibility through it.
Im after one preferably just as dark for my Shoei. Trouble is all the photos on ebay etc etc show the visors looking not particulalry dark.
Anyone bought one thats suitably dark?, if so info on where from would be good
this is the level of tint im after:

This is the one I've got for my xr1000, decent visibility and is very dark from outside looking in.
You have to bear in mind that when viewing visors on their own or as a picture they look much clearer due to nothing stopping the light behind it. When on the helmet there is no light able to pass through hence it looks much darker like your pic. |

Here's my Raid II, got the visor from ebay some years ago now.

Just taken the visor off & it doesn't look that dark but when it's on the helmet it's a very dark tint.
Very similar to this when the visor is off the helmet. |

Cheers chaps.
Yes I do appreciate they do look lighter when not attached to a lid as light is passing from all angles, but my KBC looks a lot darker even when not attached.
Im gonna take a punt on the racevisors pinlock
thanks |

Exactly the same one I got for my XR1000. Perfectly dark enough for most circumstances. If you have strong sunlight direct in your face, people can just about make out your face behind the visor.
On the upside it doesn't compromise your visability. If it comes over dark and rainy you're not going to end up in a hedge.
It's Pinlock ready, but you'll need to pick up an insert as well. I went for a clear one. ____________________ 2007 CBF1000 & 2016 CBF1000F - Commuter heaven | 1994 CBR600FR - Awaiting defibrillation |
