Honda CG125 blowing bulbs

hey guys. i've got a Honda CG125 that keeps blowing my headlight and tail light. when the engine revs high the lights just go way too bright and just burn out. i've replaced the regulator/rectifier and there's definately no corrosion on the bulb holder. i'm going to check the wiring next. just wondering if anyones got any other suggestions?
the bulbs are the right ones befor anyone asks

I had a similar thing, i dont think they blew at only high revs though
Just check your earth points, it was a dodgy earth in my light switch that caused my problem, just re-soldered it and it was fine
What year is it? And i assume there was a particular reason for replacing the reg/rec, and not just doing it as a guess to get the lights to work???

Unless it's one of the newer ones, the headlight runs of unregulated AC straight from the alternator, and relies on a sodding great wire-wound resistor to limit the current to stop the bulbs blowing. I think someone said on here that it was mounted behind the "honda" emblem across the front forks. Make sure that the resistor has some resistance and is still connected to the lighting circuit and earth.

hey guys. still working on it. i changed the rectifier cuz as far as i know the rectifier basicly puts a cap on the power output to stop the battery from frying n my lights blowing ect. but thats just how i understand it. i'm sure its more complex than that. ok so i've checked the bulb holders, soldered up some bad wires and checked the earth points but still no luck. next on my list the earth point on the generator but i ran out of time to do that tonight. after that i'm at a loss will have to ask round some more. its an 02 reg if people was wondering by the way

Here's something interesting . Some wires down by the carb heater that are linked to the generator, rectifier and heat something or other . I unscrewed a black panel down the side of the bike to find the screws holding this little panel on has gone straight through a live wire and earthed it basicly.......this may be the problem. I'm 99.9% sure that it is . I'll be repairing it tomorrow so I will let u know how that goes. God only knows how somebody managed to do this in the first place .

ye its combined. problem solved anyway. bulbs are working great now. it was that screw earthing a live wire. thanks for the advice everyone.
