Thats why i rarely wear it, i just know that it would get lost, or at the very least i would scratch the hell out of it - its safer kept at home i reckon.

Thats a good one Pat, i have loads of photo's of my little lad, they are all very precious to me, plus we kept a few of his tiny socks etc etc.
In fact, thinking about, i would say they are more important to me than my poxy wedding ring.

A wedding ring that was my Great Grandma's, passed down to my Grandma, then to my Grandad and when he died my Dad wore it. I was allowed to take it off his finger just after he died and it is now firmly placed on a finger on my right hand. It means everything to me as it is all I have from my dad. It could actually have a scrap value as it is 24 carat gold and weighs quite a bit too.

My memories are the most precious thing to me - I think that's why Alzheimers seems so devastating to me.

For purely sentimental value may I introduce to the originally named 'Doggie' and 'Teddy'..........

I was given Doggie by my natural mother when I was born and before I was adopted. I 'blame' her for my life long obsession with dogs. Teddy was given to me by my Grandparents and he still has a dob of cement on his tummy from where I dropped him at the building site that was to be our new home when I was two years old.

Both these little ones have been with me all my life, so in that respect they have many shared memories.

I've had to really think about this. I have a few things that remind me of people. I have my dads chain from when he was younger and my mams wedding ring from her marriage to him.

All of my dads comics from when he was younger like the 2000ad comics. His school pencil case and them kind of things, stuff that will always remind me of him.


He isn't dead btw we just don't see each other much.

I had 2 bears ( Big Ted and Little Ted), A panda called Panda but my favourite was Floppy Dog. I think my oldest granddaughter inherited FD. My van is full of fluffy toys that my female friends insist on buying me.
