heya everyone!
went out this morning and thought i'd try and clean up my exhaust a bit as i've never really done it properly.
Now, at first i was just focusing on the 'end can' but then thought i may try to do a bit of the downpipe aswell as its starting to rust slightly.
The problem i came across was that part of the 'end can' is shining really nice now, but towards the end is staying dull having had the same treatment as the shiny bit. Also the downpipe is just staying dull!
I've uploaded a pic to show what i'm on about. I was just wandering if anyone has any tips to help me get it ALL super shiny?
Thanks in advance

sweeeet! didn't think about wire wool I've got a load of that just waiting to be used!
So just rub with wire wool, wack on some autosol, step back and admire? Would it not make it more prone to rust like Vincent said?
Shall try it sometime soon anyway, gotta get that and some other little jobbies sorted for a longish run on saturday.
Cheers

Yup, steel wool is a bit too abrasive for chrome IMO. It'll leave tiny scratches - "Like skates on ice" It's a Motad pipe so the chrome probably isn't that good in the first place.
Steel wool and Autosol is great for polishing up ally but, personaly, I wouldn't dare use it on chrome. |

Those kitchen sponges with a plastic scouring side are perfect for chrome systems like yours. I use autosol om the sponge side for the perfect chrome parts and the scourer for the rusting parts.
Once you've got the chrome looking good use wd40 on a rag to keep on top of things.
When the staining and rusting returns (and it does ) its back to autosol.
Holts do a none abrasive chrome polish if you like it gleaming week in week out.

I think white vinegar is stronger, plus family are less likely to put it on their chips ____________________
