I am looking for some information from anyone who has done a trip of Europe before.

Just trying to work something out with fuel costs, etc and was wondering how much you all used ?

Additionally, how many miles you travelled and if anyone knows their mpg that would also be great - but only really looking for the total fuel used and mileages.

Thanks. Thumbs Up

Surely you could just add all your destinations to google maps to figure out the mileage then use the MPG of your bike to calculate the fuel costs... The cost of fuel with vary wildly from bike to bike and everyone wants to visit different places.

17.96mpg using a total of 1,062 litres of diesel. That's ignoring lost receipts and times filling up when we didn't get a receipt; there were lots of both of those. Shocked

Its a discussion I am having with a cager at the moment. Wondering what is best to use for a European tour (I know all your views will be a bit one-sided on this one since this is BIKE chat forums after all). But we are wondering if it would be feasable to get similar fuel figures if you went in a small engined car instead of a bike.

Current mileage we are looking at is around the 3000 mile mark.

17mph... I wish. Laughing It'd be closer to 11-12mpg when taking into account lost receipts and the times we didn't get a receipt.

That was with lots of fast driving in this which has the aerodynamics of a brick. Very Happy

It really depends on how you'll be riding/driving and where.

I was hitting 60-65mpg on my Sprint 1050 cruising casually at 60mph on the equal of A-roads.

Then down to like 40mpg on B-roads.

Cost of petrol varied a lot. From 1euro/litre to 1.25euro/litre.

6,000miles with a final average of 58mpg (I think).
Which comes to 466litres ish.
and so, lets just call it £550 in petrol.. or so.
