O.K 2 days ago i bought a new iphone, very pleased with it, it's my 2nd one & a good purchase i must say.

Cue 5 minutes ago;

I'm about to walk to my mums house, i get ready & walk along the road with my iphone playing & everything is going as it should be, until i slip over on my fucking arse & the iphone that was INSIDE my bloody pocket FLEW OUT of my pocket, SLID down the road & DOWN a CVNTING DRAIN with was about 7 feet away.

As pissed off as i am, i cannot help but laugh just because of the way it happened.

& no it's not insured or anything else.

Doh!

That sucks but it's also incredibly funny Laughing sort of thing I'd /really/ like to have seen!

Oh but, erm.. sorry about losing your phone! I can't live without my iphone so I'd be well pissed if it fell down a drain Laughing

Have you checked to see if it's covered on your home insurance?

It's pissing down with rain & i'm sure the drains will be filling up, so no chance of getting it back.
No home insurance, only bought it a few days ago.

There's another one for sale for the same price i paid, Umming and arring over it. I don't really NEED an iphone right now. I just bought it for the Sat-Nav/ipod so i'll wait until i've bought my car i think.
I can't really afford/justify another £150, it would make me feel better tho.

That's £150 down the drain...

I just went down for another go at lifting the drain grate, which i eventually did, stuck my arm down there & the iphone was laying on top a load of crap with the screen still turned on. It doesn't seem to of been submerged in any water but the touch screen doesn't seem to be working.

You tit, you should have done that straight away! Clean it up as best you can, and take it back and just quote 'randomly broke' until they give you a new one on the basis it is faulty.

Well worth getting yours insured.

I pay about £5 a month or so to insure mine with O2 and I am on my 3rd iPhone, first got ran over by a truck and the second I went swimming in the sea with it in my pocket.

Mr. Green.

Indeed, i did think it was gone tho as it was pouring down.

Not sure i could take it back, i bought it 2nd hand from a forum. Sad

Any idea of how much i should sell it for? It's a 2G 8G, boots up, syncs with the PC (just restored it) but the touch screen doesn't work, only for moving the power bar to turn the phone off.

Thumbs Up

What's repair cost?

Is this one of those rediculous sealed unit jobbies?

I think so, you can't even remove the battery without taking the whole thing apart with those special tiny screwdrivers.

This is the thing, when you turn it off it'll power right back on & keep switching screens. It's not even like i can remove the battery.

When I smashed the screen on mine it was £149 to get it fixed, or they'd replace it for a brand new one for the same price, obviously I went for a brand new one. That was with the Apple store.
