99T 600x model 15k miles

ive just given it a full service and a good clean + fitted the C&S that came with it plus its got new tyres also just fitted Thumbs Up

ive serviced the forks & put a new shock on it plus shimmed the ride height ready for a track day ive booked in a few weeks time.

its half the power of my 12r and feels like half the weight too Laughing

been for a ride on it and its bloody fantastic and as mad as a box of frogs and handles like its on rails Laughing

id forgotten what its like to ride a bonkers 600 as ive only really had big ST's for the last few yrs.

cant wait for some sunshine so i can ring this little bikes neck lol

Its not often you see a 600 of that age in such good condition. I bet its cracking fun.

I've always had a soft spot for SRAD's, they look like proper motorcycles. I guess its because they were the bikes to have when I was 17.

yes there d207's and im not a fan of dulops but im 44 and i can remember what bad tyres were really like before radials tyres on bike appeared in the mid eighties.

some on here will remember avon death masters etc lol

ive got 016's on my 12r and there great but to be honest i went out on the gixer yesterday for a 20mile ride in damp-dry conditions and about 6-7deg and the tyres were perfect.

but we'll see if there up to it when i put them under a bit of pressure Wink

Nice bikes, had a 750 and it's still the best handling bike i've ever owned bar maybe the CBR600RR I had briefly, handles like a 400 compared to my Fireblade, I just wasn't as happy with the engine, never felt anything like as tight as a Honda one, always rattles and noises and if it got wet, too cold or left for a while it never ran right, never actually went wrong though.

I've had a few D207s fitted, my SRAD had 2 sets on and I put a set on my CBR600RR, I've always liked them but they were second to BT010s at the time for me as they would let go even in the dry but moreso in the wet but you got some warning and it was only when taking the piss a bit, I did a trackday in torrential rain on them and they were just fine. There are better tyres but for the price they were good.

Oh and don't expect swapping the rear brake pads to be a 5minute job, the pin always siezes and the caliper usually needs to be split to get them out.

all new brake pads well happy and i hear you on the 207's mate. most young un's blame the tyres when really its all down to poor suspension set up and bad servicing and inexperience as all modern sport tyres are good and some are just amazing Thumbs Up

ive had some fantastic bikes over the yrs but this little zook is as planted a bike a you could hope for and its ten year old Shocked

lol i been looking closley and its amazing how much of a srad 600 part wise has been reused on the sv650s 2001 i have, like the rear brake connecting arm, the pedals assy, the heel plates, the pillion pegs and exhaust hanger, the seat frame arm, even the centre of the main frame looks very similer Laughing

i think its a good idea reusing bike bits from sports bikes like the srad 600 for example, i suppose it makes cheaper bikes and people on a budget can afford a bike that has some sporty thing to it if you know what i mean lol
