Right, i'm buying a 125 cc in a week or two, and it's the Aprilia RS125 or if any about the Cagiva PLanet/Raptor ....

In this thread i intend on putting forward real potential bikes for anyone who cares to look at them for the purpose of seeing something i'm likely to miss ....

The only thing that bothers me about the RS is how uncomfortable it will be for a unfit fat fucker .... now i've lost nearly a stone and started light exercises, i intend on attaining a basic level of fitness in the next few months and to go down in weight to 15 stone ..

The other issue, not as important, is that the RS looks really fast but is a 125, whereas at least the Cagiva does not look like it should be going as fast ...

Budget 2 - 3 k ........

I have asked the usual questions of all the bikes, nothing seems untoward ...

if your budget is 2-3k. why piss about with a 125 get some lessons and go for your test

It's the right way to go for me, i shall not bore you with the reasons, of which there are many, having been a member of many sorts since July, this is the way to go ... i will still get my license at my own pace, and no doubt in a year or two, will get a 600 cc ..

then you should go for a Varadero, pricey but large.

Yes, i love the RS looks and performance for a 125 cc, but i can see myself getting very uncomfortable very quickly .. shame ... i think maybe to have a sports bike, it needs to be 400 - 600 cc or more and the rider to have a nice ass ...

Anyway i may be going to see this bike (raptor 125) next week, awaiting answers from dealer to the usual questions ...

Actually, imo the Vara is an excellent choice. Hubby had one and if I hadn't have been so short and a girl (too much for me to move around) I'd have had one too. Hubby found that people did a double take as it looks closer to a bigger bike than a 125. It's very comfortable - upright seating position, fairing for wind blast and enough grunt to get you to 70 easily enough.

I know you want to spend some time on a 125 before anything else, which is what I did and it certainly suited me, but I'd still say by the cheapest 125 you can find to spend time on, and save the rest for your test and bike.

Yes, i have seen and readup upon that fugly bike ....

Depending on how plans go in the next year or two, i may keep the 125 cc ... otherwise the case for a cheap 125 and a bigger bike soon after would be increased ....

I will hopefully have passed the mod 1 /2 over the summer, and then can be legally insured and unrestricted, and no bloody L plates ... !

Yes, seen that one and will look into it, the one i menstioned last, i'm under the impression it may have nominal mileage and therefore would be a good price, as others are nearer three grand ... I

I want nearly new and mint, to safeguard usage if i were to keep it for a good while .. i'm only interested in mint raptors and RS's, and paying cash i intend to squeeze out the best deal i can in price and extras ........
