just got a pirelli rallycross front tyre fitted and its very interestin in the wet, doesnt like to turn much atm, will it get better?

What bike is it for?

Unless you're off roading, road tyres seem more suitable for road conditions (except for maybe snow).

its a yamaha xt125r i got the knobbly tyres fitted because i like going off road lol

Fair enough. The MT60 (trial like) Pirellis I've got on my XR aren't that great on road, especially in the wet. But they cope okay, if not provoked. Maybe it's a thing you'd just get used to. Being confident with the bike squirming around beneath you may help for some off road antics.

You're unlikely to find a trail tyre that's actually good in the wet.

I've founded MT21s to be very good for a 'dual purpose' tyre - they are very dirt biased, but can still handle 80mph cruising on the road (a lot of road noise) and reasonable turning etc.
Not amazing off-road, but very competent still.

Erm, actually, seems like we might be talking about the same tyre here . I don't think you're going to get anything that handles as well off-road and is any better on-road.
Are you changing your tyre pressures for off and on road?

The other tyres I've been impressed with recently is the Metzler Enduro 3, which is a road-biased tyre, but can handle moderate off-roading at the expense of being rather scary as the pace ups.

yea its the mt21 tyres mate, havent been off roading yet today but vibrates alot more with them though, what are they like off road?

As above - not amazing, but still very competent, I've never had a problem 'keeping up' on trail rides and I've managed some pretty gnarly situatios with them - reducing to 5 psi (thanks to tubliss system - don't try without!) they worked very well on loose rocky stuff in spain, getting me up and down some very steep bits with relatively little drama.

hmm...really can't say for sure cux i use a brand called DSI which u probably haven't even heard of yet...lol...and it copes kind of alright with the roads on my country which is paved with somekinda concrete mix...kind of ok with wet roads at about 30 km's but faster than that and its a sure skid

I thought the MT21s on my xlr250 were pretty good for cornering. Mine ended up worn out pretty quick though.

Have MT21's on mine, both have been great (when I say "great" I mean I've had no "oh sugar" moments with them. Sure, you can feel it drop onto the other knobs as you corner etc) in all conditions (snow, road, wet, dry, etc), can't REALLY vouch for their off-road ability as I haven't been able to get off-road as often as I'd have liked. The front is still in great condition although the rear is totally worn (about 2-3mm in the centre) but I've just ordered another Seem fine at higher speeds, too (90mph+)

Well I generally don't need to drop my speed much but then again the bike will only do about 80 now with the sprocket I have on it - that's through country roads etc. They did take a bit of getting used to as it was the first time I had knobblies on the road but once you overcome that I don't think they're really that bad.

Someone did mention to me about some sort of super-sticky maxxi off-road tyres which were supposed to be very good on the road but they didn't last long at all. Not sure of the tyre "model" though but maybe worth a look.

Kev i think you might be referring to Goldspeed Wets. These are a 17" SM tyre.

Very good although they wear out very very fast!

I had a road compound front 'inter' in that design from Maxxis - absolutely terrible from cold, wouldn't touch them again pesonally.
Can't see it being that great off-road generally, though the sort of thing you might want on a supermoto race.
