Generally any kind of exhaust paint flakes off, not so much the heat, but the metal shrinking and growing with the very high heat means that higher temp paint, which is more brittle, flakes off, and lower temp paint, which is more elastic, burns off.

You can apply a coat of barbeque paint every few months, or just put on lots of high heat laquer or exhaust paint, then wrap an exhaust bandage around it.

Exhausts are consumables. Either accept this, or get a stainless or titanium system.

I doubt it. Barbeque paint is generally accepted as the stuff to use.

Isn't this on a 50 or a 125 anyway? If so, don't bother. Painted exhausts look crap to start with, and worse when it starts flaking. Rub the rust off with some wire wool now and then if it bothers you.

Robby, you need a bike. Exhausts may be consumable on cars, but on the 13 year old bike I've got now the downpipes still look brand new Razz In fact on my previous two bikes (1989 and 1991) both exhausts were original and in fairly good condition. If it doesn't need replacing after 15 years use it's hardly a consumable Razz

Expansion chambers on 2-strokes look cool, I'd go with the laquer.
