I'm having a bit of a thing for wanting to purchase a couple of old consoles and games. So far I've come up with the list below but what else should I be looking out for?

N64

Mario 64
Blast Corps
Ocarina of time
Goldeneye
Banjo-Kazooie
Mario Kart 64
Pilotwings 64

Dreamcast
Sonic adventure
Shenmue
Toy Commander
Powerstone
Soul Calibur

Those are all I've thought of at the mo, I think I'm going to pick one and go with it, probably the dreamcast but I did rather enjoy Blast corps on the N64!

So what am I missing or do you remember as being rather fun?

A bit older but Donkey Kong for the Super Nintendo. All the DK games were really good, great soundtracks, great graphics & simple but fun game play.

I've still got a Dreamcast in the loft, complete with fishing reel and keyboard. Crazy taxi, Dead or Alive 2, legacy of kain and Ready to rumble really used to waste my day.

N64 - Lylat wars. Defiantly the best game on the n64 as far as cheap thrills go.

Wow, completely forgot about that, I remember getting it when it first came out and being all excited about the rumble pack that added an extra 10kg to the weight of the pad. Laughing

i started a bit of a collection a few years ago.
now im trying to get rid of it all cos it takes up too much space and ive never got the time to play any of them.

have you considered emulators? theyre cheaper and take up less space.

sadly though, most games (with a few exceptions) really arent as good as you remembered them when you were 12

Meh, for N64 it has to be perfect dark. Well ahead of it's time.

Expect goldeneye to feel terrible, I had a go a year or so back on my old console I gave to my sister.

That said, Mariokart 64 is still fun Laughing

Another story lol

It was pretty terrible when it came out for anyone that had played a PC FPS in the previous five years Razz.

I'd go with N64/mario kart for fun-with-friends.

I think I've got a Dreamcast somewhere - if it's near the top of the pile, you're welcome to it (unless I look on ebay and they're going for silly money Razz, which seems unlikely), not having my N64 though - even if I'll never use it again as probably might as well get the N64 Mario kart on the wii (I'm presuming it's the same) it still holds some good memories at least!

If we ever manage to sort this new house, might try and sort out some of my old consoles to actually be usable.
