Hey

Over the past few months I have been busy or we have had crap weather so I have not been out on the bike.
Got home Friday, hmm, nice weather, I best just start the bike up, as you should every now and then.

As with most of us, 10 minutes later I am out on the road (soo much for just turning the engine on to warm up the bike)

Got the feeling back from being on the bike.
Went out Sunday, coming back at night and got stuck behind a grit truck spreading grit.

Keeping my distance we come to a straight, excellent, Nothing coming, straight past and i went through a massive puddle.

Got home, exhausted, put my helmet down, got changed and warmed up (Grit truck should tell you it was cold last night)

Anyway, picked my helmet up to put it away and its all sticky and dirty from the Grit. I am guessing my bike is in the same way.

So, after all this my question is..

What's the best thing to clean the salt of my bike, helmet, leathers and boots (Yes I was covered in it)

Thats what I was thinking, if I get a cloth and start washing, it might scratch. my Visor mainly as its a coloured visor.

Would it be best to unclip the visor and soak in warm water or just warm water and kitchen paper do the trick?

re: the bike.
Buckets or warm water and clothes or will the good old cold water hose and normal bike cleaner do the trick?

Either, they do the same thing.

Whatever's easier. The point is just to rinse it off rather than rub at it (until the worst of it is gone) so it really doesn't matter how you do it.

If it is dried on your visor get a bit of kicten roll fold it in half and soak with with warm water then lay it over the visor and leave it for a while when you come back it should have soften all the grip to make it easy to remove.

Cheers guys.

Yet another reason why I love being a biker. Not just the fun on the road but the community of bikers. Happy to lend a hand.

I remember someone told me once when I started riding.
If you break down in your car, most likely only your friends or family will come to help you

If you break down on your bike, most likely the next biker will come to help you.
