i was over at the honda dealer the other day whilst she sales man was trellin me i need new everything i mentioned i was changeing the exaust and he told me to put wd40 on the bolts to losen them and keep doing it till i change the system but when i start the bike and let it warm up plumes of smoke some off the bolts and it fu*king stinks is this normal iv tryed whipeing it off but it still smokes and its killing when when i stop as it comes up past the dials straight up the helmet

Firstly, I hope the dealer told you to invest in some comma's too?

No need to keep WD40'ing the bolts, just do it probably the night before you want to remove the exhaust. Whatever you put on a hot exhaust will burn off, as you are finding out.

Basically don't worry about the smoke or the smell perfectly normal. Also we have a workshop section for such queries.

I think you might need to put WD40 on your full stop and comma keys...

ACF50 also has a nice aroma and smokes for longer on a hot downpipe. Om nom nom. Twisted Evil

I use WD40 to test which cylinders aren't firing on a cold-started engine by spraying it on the headers.

Puff - puff - no puff - puff = No3

It's far easier to just soak the bolts a few days before you change the exhaust.

It's probably not doing too much anyway, since most of it is just burning off as you're finding out.
