I saw this ad last night and I personally think they did a great job. It's really different from the other road safety ads they have done in the past and I think it is pretty effective.

I prefer it to other bike ads that I have seen.

They said in the making Helen gives the thumbs up but it looked like the bird to me Smile

I wouldn't mind something that stands out and has my name on it (even big letters on the back of my leathers for example Very Happy) but feel like most people would think it looks stupid.

That was pretty cool ad. Like others have said, better than the rest i have seen.

I used to like one where some guy got on a Ducati and went for a ride and there were loads of signs about like "Tractor pulling out" and "Shit on the road". Different point to the adds i know but i liked it.

The radio version has the missus interested.

A woman comes on "Hi, I'm Karen and I ride a Kawasaki ER5. I have a pink helmet and ride through Morley and straight down into the centre of Leeds - look out for me."

The missus picked up her 1st bike on Saturday after passing her DAS a couple of weeks ago. She has an ER5 and pink lid. Although she doesn't go through Morley she has visions of random people waving at her as she passes by!

I explained that it may not be a bad thing - even if 1 person saw her who otherwise wouldn't have done. Suggested getting a sticker on the back that says - "NO - I'm not Karen!!!"

I've had a lot to say about the poor quality of older ads.... but I like that one a lot. No dodgy camera tricks, no changes of position one shot to the next, no guilt trip, just a nice friendly nudge.

That ad's rather inaccurate. What sort of biker gives someone a thumbs up after they nearly pulled out on to them. Laughing

I think it should be re-shot to include thumping the Merc's wing mirror off. Thumbs Up

Pretty good.

An add from THINK that doesn't involve a child being road kill in slow motion.

Should raise awareness a bit...
Thumbs Up

Laughing The shot of the bike going northbound after Blackfriars bridge is innaccurate too... we're normally doing a bit more than 20mph there... Mr. Green

(Actually really liked that ad, mucho respect to the creators)

Great ad, however if it works it'll just be a matter of time before those lights are compulsory Wink

TBH honest I think they're fighting a losing battle.

Maybe the money should be diverted away from TV ads and into further training on defensive riding for motorcyclists?

I don't think TV ads will ever really help, unless someone has some statistics to prove me otherwise? Keith?

Very good, I liked that. Seems like that will probably get more attention than the shock value ones.

Thumbs Up

No it should be diverted into driver training, so that every learner has to ride a bike, drive a bus and a lorry, both artic and static....

That way they will understand the needs of other road users.

I thought it was pretty insighful and a good job fairly well done.

I think they also need to grab some footage or a few different bikers doing their normal routes at normal times, and edit 'worst' cager bits together so people can see how their careless driving affects bikes but still have a nice tune so it doesn't seem hostile.
