Pilot Road 2's Or BT021's - ORRR BT023's

In need of new tyres pretty soon and have narrowed it down to these two, any experiences on either one to help me decide. The price difference is next to nothing, so which are best.

Will be on a CBF600, bit of everything riding wise but more sports touring than balls out supersports

And sorry for the age old which tyre question which is raised almost weekly!

This is my front BT-021 after around 6.5k ish, the edge of the centre wear has a nice ridge either side which doesn't half tip the bike when cornering, can be a bit scary at times.
The centre is fairly sqaured off and the tyre has a triangular profile too

I've got 21's on the Bandit and while they're longer lasting than the previous 45's, they're not as confidence inspiring around corners in the dry and especially not in the wet. I plan to try the Pilot 2s next time round.

Ever since I switched to P.R 2's I've never looked back.

I used to always run Bridgestone's but I always felt they took an age to warm up and sometimes would give me the impression that running over a ladybird, even at 50% lean would risk upsetting them and result in the bike escorting me to the pavement.

The pilot road 2's have always felt super planted, even in wet conditions and I would recommend them 110%

it would seem the PR2 is regarded as being the best, but i just need convincing being a bridgestone bitch for ages! cheers guys, and any more insights are more than welcome

Had a BT021 rear fitted to the Bandit just last week (to replace the old BT020).
I'm not a fast rider by "sports rider" standards, but the 021 seems to handle everything I've done so far... motorway, A & B roads, frost, rain and dry weather etc

(I've never used PR2's, so can't give a back-to-back comparison)

Go for the pireli stradas they have a hard center core and cost about the same..

I'm a PR2 convert from the church of Bridgestone. I've had 020s and 014s on the bike and neither felt as good as the Michelins.

However I've not run on 021s so my opinion is only valid as far as strongly recomending the PR2s. I can't say for sure that the 021s aren't as good.

Never used the BT21s but the PR2s i have had two sets and to be honest, they're amazing.

Used them both, PR2's are better probably...

At least if they are the same price i would go for the PR2,

Also consider Dunlop Roadsmarts, also good maybe slightly cheaper

Ive used BT021'S, they are fine but the fronts do wear funny....
Every bike i have changed tyres on that has been running them has a very strangely worn front.

I havent used the Michelins, but i've had people saying good things about them. The other one's that are worth a try are the Dunlop Roadsmarts.

I've been on the same fronts for my dunlop roadsmarts for a year now. I've put on 10k miles on them and they still retain their round profile. Ridden in the winter and in the snow, I can guarantee that they have sufficient grip and feedback in the cold conditions (discounting other variables such as black ice and oil). I won't put any other tyre on my Blade. They're very good in summer and offer enough grip, milage and feedback to keep me happy. So, on a litre bike, I'm getting something like 7k on a rear and my front's still going strong. Will need replacing in the next 1000-2000 miles though. I won't be going back to bridgestones after the BT020. I was going to try the 021's, but then the roadsmarts came out cheaper than the others. Coincidentally, I'm happy with the profile of the tyres since I used to run with dunlop qualifiers.

Give these a look in, I was not expecting the result I got from them especially after coming off Pilot Power 2CT's and on to a sports touring tyre. Impressive!

My front BT021 looke identical to Nasty's. The yres offer good grip and feedback, but once they wear and start to go a funny shape, the hanling goes to shit.

I've got PR2's on now, but only did about 80 miles on them just before winter.
