Givi - Ok to fit a 7.0kg Almax chain inside?

Need storage on me bike, somewhere to store the beast of a chain from Almax, but hear Givi boxes support weights of like 3/4kg?

Anyone?

If not a givi, any recommendations?

The box will be fine I'd imagine, it'll be the bracket that it fits onto that might go.
Alot of the manufacturers only give a very small max weight, 3/4kg but they all take alot more than that.

Probably be fine. However, you'd want to make sure it isn't loose in the top box. Buy one of the almax chain bags instead that sits on the pillion seat.

i rode 500 miles with my almax in the top box, whole thing weighed over 10kg's. everything was fine!

Yeh will be fine. The weight guide is only there so they cant be held responsible if bits start falling off your bike, but the racks can hold alot more than stated.

My rack only stated it was fine for 2KG's which is nonsense. Carried about 10 and been fine.

I had 8kgs worth of cheap fizzy drink in my cheap givi top box yesterday. I hit 100mph and had both wheels in the air a couple of times (only one wheel at once though, private road on the way to the shops, yada, yada) and it was fine.
Less space to move around, but I've not had a problem when I've had a heavy lock in there and nothing else too.

I have regularly had a hell of alot more than 3kg in my givi box with no issue.
