I didn't realise the memory card arrived yesterday and hadn't seen it. I seem to be having a problem inserting the card into the slot. Should it "click" into position like on a phone? Where it pushes all the way in then it "clicks" and moves back out slightly?

I've tried inserting it and it doesn't want to sit in place. I've tried different combinations and inserting it into the PC and it shows the drive but doesn't have any space on it, indicating it's not recognising the card.

It's an 8gb SDHC Sandisk. Do I have to format it to FAT32 first? I imagine it's NTFS by default.

Insert upside down? It will stay in like a click and out.

I thought that when I watched it too, although it's hard to tell exactly what the visibility is like from a video, as the hedges look quite high though and there could've been something low coming or another bike it looks like one dumb shit overtake and i'll stick with that theory based on the rest of the riding and ending in a crash because he's riding way too fast through snow. It's funny though because helmet cams always make people ride like idiots.

Look at the road markings at that point. I know its not conclusive, but if it was so dangerous there would be double solids. Or at least you would maybe just get normal lines, but one thing you definitely wouldn't get is arrows just around the bend telling overtakers to get back in lane.

I've tried inserting it both ways and it doesn't "click" into place. It pushes all the way in an feels like it's supposed to click but it doesn't. Might be faulty.

Seems like it bud. I had trouble then turned it upside down or something and that worked. Hope it's ok

God damn it, I always have problems buying things on egay! If I hold the card pushed all the way in, I can take a video and if I connect it via USB, and keep my finger on the card pushed in, I can see and transfer the video to my PC.

I bet it costs more money to send it back than the thing is worth!

I based my comment on my memory of watching it a few days ago, was clearly faulty, watched it again and you're right the hedges are low and there are pull in arrows in the road, looking closer it may have been an ok overtake, he is riding too fast though and appears to be 'giving it large' for the camera a little too much.

Managed to get it working by sellotaping the card in and then sellotaping it to the inside of my helmet.

Anyone else have a problem with it stopping at 2 gig file size. I have a 8 gig card, but once the file reaches 2 gig it stops.

Was looking to see if i could format to ntfs but need to spend some time searching.

That doesn't make sense because the FAT32 file size limit is somewhere just over 4GB. I don't have one though so unfortunately I can't help you any more than that.

Thats what has me stumped.
Its formated at fat 32 and yet the last 2 times i have used it. It stops at 2.24 gig and then creates a 2nd file of 0kbs.

Now its either running out of power, odd how 2 the same though, and stopping or its a file size issue.
Bang on 30 mins long.

I've noticed mine does this as it's approaching the 2gb limit but it starts a new one where it stopped on the last one. It did mention something about that in the article posted I think.

I got mine yesterday.. My thoughts..

The bad things are:
- it records in 720x480, so to make it look natural I have to change it to 640x480 when editing.
- the date is always there, I don't think that it's possible to record without the date. But of course it's possible to crop the video and make it wide screen format without the date.

The good things are:
- video quality is better than expected
- sound quality is better than other 808 models (the ones with white and orange dates, mine is yellow)
- size and weight - tiny and very light
- easy to use, idiot friendly

I'll record something soon.

It looks like I've got the camera #3

I've ust bought one of these.

Does anyone have a test of it in lower light environments? e.g. not outside or next to a window, but under artificial lights?

How are you all sticking it to your lid/bike?

Was gonna use that strong 3M velcro stuff but i dont really want a permanent bit of it on my lid/bike...

On my helmet would be preferable tbh.

Also, my fake md80 came with a mini cd rather than a full size one. My laptop would have swallowed it like an essex girl so I took it to work and ripped the files off there: if anyone else has a similar problem and needs the instructions, text file for the time or the PC drivers PM and ill email em ya!

I tried it with it attached under the nose cone. I taped it under there but also ran a bit of elastic attached to the forks so if it came un-done, it wouldn't fall off. The video was er, interesting. It picked up the plastic as a mirror effect, i'll cut the video down an upload it.

Just the device for the charge up while out and about. Razz

Could simply leave it under seat while you are off having a rest.
