Got to work this morning and what i thought was a piece of gravel stuck to my tyre was a cable clip with a 1 inch nail through my rear tyre , i pulled it out hoping it was just the top but air was pissing out so i put it back in and rode 16 miles home very carefully, it got me home, now its gonna be £15 to repair it or £50 for a new pilot sporty to be fitted, the tyre has about 1.5mm of tread in the middle before thewear indicater which is about 1200 miles of riding at the rate its been wearing. I have noticed the bike has been feeling a bit different on the corners and put it down to the greasy roads, but on closer inspection the tyres profile has changed so i assume its squaring off, its also has shown another weird thing with the tyre in that it has a curved slice that looks lik a razor has been on it in the opposite way to the tyres travel, this is the third time this has appeared on this tyre, i will post a piccy tonight when im home as im not sure why these are appearing, maybe someone can tell me why. So no bike till monday now .

I use that slime stuff in the tyres, and touch wood no problems so far its a good investment..

The tyre is near the end of its life i think, the profile was a nice curve but now looks like a city demon or the original chen shing crap, if it were a big bike tyre it would prolly look like a proper flat area but as its a 90/90 18 it just looks like a commuting tyre, that and the different feeling i get in corners especially in the wet is wel different, its the strange shallow slice marks which concern me a tad. The tyres when new and scrubbed grip like stink really

Most likely stones, the roads are pretty crappy around my house and I used to get that a lot. Trail type tyres help a lot.

Its like a u shape curve thats been done with a razor blade.

Okies new image while i took wheel off for new tyre monday, im frigin sure that looks like a stanley blade cut. and yes Smeg they are shit hot tyres, im 106 kg and have had 3140 miles so far out of rear although i think before this they would get 4-5 k out of them.
Cleaned shoes and greased everything up for rebuild.
