Hi

Use gunk and an old toothbrush, then hose it off. By the way gunk only works when dry.

All the best

WD40 does a bloody good job too, but keep it away from the tyre and brakes!

I have the same problem with wax on my rear wheel. Makes it look all dull yet its new.
What happens if you get WD40 on the tyre? Does it make the rubber perish early or are you just concerned with it making things less grippy?

Cheers

Now now. Obviously i know oil makes things slippy but the way you lot went on i thought it was cos the rubber tyres would perish or something.
When i was younger, i was taught to ask the question even if it made me look mighty thick. Very Happy

I just said 'Don't get any on the tyres though m8' thinking any reasonably sane person would figure out that when you ride if there's some on the tyres there's a good chance of sliding all over the place Laughing

Parafin!

works a treat, then once you've cleaned it with it just use soapy water to get rid of any residue!

works for me everytime, also some of the guys i know (2/3 of which race in the BSB?? (or whatever its called!) they've dropped out this season though after a really bad accident put one of the guys in hospital, and the other guys wife threw a wobbler at him (which is fair enuf))) swear by it!

no where near as wd40- and cheaper too!
