Fuel tank leak, Sealants any good?

Tank is leakin at the seam on my RXS, Nothing major, Probably a drip every 2 minutes, If that, But still needs sorting, I've been advised to use a tank sealant, Can anyone recommend a decent inexpensive one?

I've tried using Petseal before, seemed to do the job nicely enough. If I remember correctly it was about £15 odd.

Just had to remove tank & empty, remove the fuel tap etc.. put in the petseal swill it around the tank then add the hardening agent.

Ended up replacing the tank in the end though as it soon (cosmetic reasons).

Dont use Petseal as it will unbond and flake off after a few months and is a right pain to remove whats left, l,ve used this stuff in the past on both steel and fiberglass tanks with no ill effects.

You can clean the paint off till shiny bear metal and do it with a heavy soldering iron (use Bakers flux), don't use a naked flame though or you and the bike go bang.

You've clearly never had run with a fuel tank pulse jet.

POR-15 will probably work if the leak is that small, but brazing some silver solder over the hole is a more permanent repair. You're likely to burn off an area of paint though, which makes sealer more attractive.

I have had luck with petseal, didn't keep the bike long enough to see if it disintegrated. Never got POR-15 to seal the holes, but that tank had a lot of holes to seal.
