Hi all, i have a 2003 cbr600rr.

I have just changed the stock indicators for mini indicators with normal bulbs not leds.

They now flash a bti faster than they use to when the bike is running but they flash at normal rate when the engine is off. Is this just the bulbs as the stock are 21watt and i think these are 23watt.

I wouldn't have thought that 21W vs 23W bulbs would make all that much difference; might do though - only one way to find out!

Are you sure it wasn't doing the same thing (flashing quicker with the engine running than with it not) before you changed the indicators over, but you've only just noticed? I ask because the indicators speeding up with revs is usually a sign that your regulator is borked.

Im not sure to be honest with you.

But wouldnt a broken reg effect other things other than the indicators?

I would expect them to flash a BIT faster with the engine running. i.e. with the battery sat at say 12.5v engine not running and say 13.9v engine running, it is going to make a difference on something that relies on voltage and resistance to work ...

Roughly how much faster are they?? if they are twice as fast, there is something wrong.

If you get a volt meter on the battery with the bike running, if at any time (revs) it goes over ~14.5V, you need to take a look at the reg/rec before it fries your battery ...

Yep, will be slowly boiling your battery to death. You need a meter to check it - make sure the voltage on the bike is about 12V witht he engine off then doesn't ever go above about 14V when you rev the engine, but for a quick check turn on the indicators and see if the flash rate actually changes with RPM of the engine. If it does, worry.

Id say they dont flash quite as much as twice as fast but deffinetly more than just a bit. They dont flash any quicker when i rev the bike. Ill check with a multimeter one of the days

Turns out the battery wasa bit low on volts, charged the battery and the indicators now work Thanks guys

along the indicators route, I have a yam XT125X and sometimes putting my indicators on they don't flash unless I give the bike a rev and that starts them off otherwise they just sit 'on' no flashing? could this just be a loose connection maybe or a switch somewhere?
