Hi guys, thought I'd just post what's happened to me on my lil 125.

November: Some guy did a u-turn and as I was slowly overtaking stationary traffic without putting his indicator on. He hit me (was only going 15mph) and did about £200 worth of damage. The Honda garage I took it to did estimates saying they'll put it back to brand new (as they said I should say it was as brand new before the accident) and they'd be able to do it all up to new for around £1200. I sent the estimates to my insurance about 2 months ago. I paid £400 of my own money to fix the fairing and important bits on the bike like indicators (expecting to have that paid back when I get my moneys) so I could continue riding it.

A week ago on Friday: I was going down the road at 30 exactly, nobody around me on my side of the main road. Some guy was looking left and right and left and right trying to turn right off a side road on the left. I looked into his face as he looked towards me so many times, and there was at least 20 seconds of me riding down the road. As I got right next to him, for no reason, the bastard pulled out and my leg got caught between my bike and the car at 30mph to a stop. OUCH.

So I went flying spectacularly over the bonnet and the hitting of the floor which didn't hurt, but my leg wrecked from the collision and I was effing and blinding at the guy.. he had NO reason to pull out, there was no logic in what he did and I'm still baffled as to why he did it; he saw me so many times. Nothing broken (thank god for my armour), but cuts and loads of swelling up and down my leg, it's all bruised yellow and my foot has some black on it. Been on crutches the last week and can only just walk on it now.

Both guys have insurance one way or another, and I have third party fire and theft. Their fault both times.

So those two accidents were within 3 months of each other and on Monday I let my insurance company know. The latest accident smashed the front of my bike up bad and the police officer (nice guy, dropped me off after the hospital xrays) believes that it'll be a write off. Sad

So I just want some advice from you guys. General advice really. Insurance put me through to a solicitor too so apparently I can get compensation for my leg. If anyone of you want grim pics, I will be happy to post lol. Should I play on a bit that I can't walk for longer? What do I do about the previous claim as I have two on the go now and haven't been told how they may affect each other. All advice on ANYTHING would be appreciated! Thanks! Smile

1st thing..
did you claim for injuries on both claims..

im currently undergoing 2 claims, one from feb 08 leaving me with brain damage, i broke my legs, all my ribs, damaged my spine and back.. write off bike..

the other was xmas day 09...where i broke my wrist... another write off.

I was warned to not mix the injuries between the claims as they will dispute fault with the injuries in an attempt to get out of paying.

both accidents were other drivers..
one had no licence, insurance, stolen car, drunk and under influence of drugs..

other one was tipsy driver on xmas day.. arses..all of them Razz

Crap dude, I'm so sorry to hear that Sad

I hurt my arm in the first accident (pulled some tendons but that's about it, my tendons near the top of my arm felt like cornflakes crunching towards the end of the week). All healed now, but I couldn't really use my hand without pain for a week. I didn't claim anything on that one.

So it's only this one I've claimed any phyiscal injury. I also have photos from my first accident of all the different parts that were damaged on the outside, but nothing from this one as it was taken to a police recovery place while I went off to hospital.

ah im used to it, 8th claim not being my fault.. and ive had 8 crashes Razz so obviously im either unlucky or I ride wrong..

solicitors use alot of paper... and you recieve a crap load of post.. it gets annoying..

but just get through the paperwork asap and as long as you are proved not at fault, you are laughing.
BUT
if you find that your are to blame... solictors cost a bomb Razz think mine is £210 an hour.. absolute cow it is!

Probably abit of both, I'm the same, I'll freely admit when I'm at fault but I still have had 4 that where not my fault, 4 in 4 and abit years of riding is alot.
