Import US, DS games in bulk from japan. Sell over here.
My mate just bought a 2003 BMW 3 series with the monies. Not saying its totally straight but he did make money.
Involves a lot of jiffy bags and time spent going to the post office.

Sell drugs, though the hours are usually shite, as are the clientele. And the risk of prison. And the risk of rival conflict. Money can be quite decent though, depending on what your flogging and how much you are cutting it.

I've heard people make a good earning from selling shite on ebay, seems like a lot of work for fuck all money though, it's more the volume of shite thats shifted that pays dividends rather than selling anything of worth.

Get a weekend job to supplement your income. This is a horrible way to earn money as you are working 7 days a week just to thrive, however this is an option I might have to look into myself come the summer as I could use a couple of grand just to even things out a bit at the moment myself.

Other than that theres gambling in a casino/on horses/tenner on the lottery every week.

If there was an easy way to earn money everyone would be doing it.

Selling on ebay. I know a fair few people who have started doing this for the people they work for, and have been successful and it has helped them create a niche...and earn extra roonies. Smile

There is a LOT of demand for support workers for a whole host of people with disabilities...evenings and weekends...

Selling on ebay made me a few grand a few years ago. A few things to note:

1. For most small value/high volume things you won't be able to compete with China or HK.
2. Work in a niche market you know about.
3. Make sure you can get the stock at a good price.

I sold old computer games, mostly megadrive ones. I bought bulk from people that had amassed huge collections and put them on ebay, so I would pay about £200-500 for a carload of games, systems and accessories. I had to test everything, and about 5% of the cartridge games didn't work, rising to 15% of the CD games.

Most games were only selling for £2-5, consoles £15-30. Rare games made strong money, and there were always a couple tucked away in collections. I had to check the going rate for every game before listing it, so that I didn't sell a rare one worth £40 for £4.

In the end my sales dropped off because the market had dried up. Most people who wanted a game had already bought it from me, so I sold off the remaining stock and relaxed.

Tips to reduce your overheads:
1. Get a franking machine, or get access to one. Postage is cheaper from a franking machine.
2. Either bulk buy envelopes and packing materials, or acquire them from work.
3. List through an ebay shop. I don't know what the rules are these days, but back then it cost me about 6p to list an item through the shop or 30p to list an item on normal ebay.
4. Sell internationally. You'll make money on the postage.

It was a struggle to make money. I think I worked out my hourly rate at about £3 or £4, luckily I had a slack job so plenty of time there to list and answer questions.

I do whatever i can to make extra money, so long as it wont land me in the clink again Exclamation
Dogs are a good earner if you pick a breed of high value, but its not without its risks. It costs a lot of money to do it properly and without proper planning, good contacts, and lots of advertising, there is no guarantee you'll ever see a return on your money. The opposite in fact, you could easily drop yourself right in the shit trying to breed dogs.

Making more money is nothing but a gamble no matter how you try to do it.Sometimes its better to be thankful for what you've got, and be happy with that Thumbs Up

I tried selling haynes manuals on ebay, I just went to car boot sales and bought loads payed about 50p-£1 each.
The first lot I got lucky on as I had a few rare ones that went for about £8-£10 each. But I also had a few that just didn't sell for weeks and then went for fuck all. So I probably made a loss after postage on those ones.
You also get people complaining that there is a oily finger print on a 'used' 10 yr old workshop manual.
You really need a list of the ones that are selling for decent money.
So you can just buy those and not waste your time with the others.

I've retired from the business now so you're free to my empire.
unfortunately it only consists of a 1984-1992 Austin Montego 1.3/1.6 manual that I didn't shift.

Well the cats had kittens. Our dog is due to drop her pups the end of the month. The wife is due to drop in June, although i probably wouldnt be allowed to sell that one Laughing

I like the idea of breaking bikes. Ive certainly got the time but i guess it would take time sourcing bikes that are cheap enough with parts that are actually needed to be worth breaking. Perhaps the likes of RS125's, NSR's etc that get crashed alot.

Well thats a whole different case really isnt it.

Circumstances change and i was earning a decent wage (as was/is she) when she dropped pregnant.

How else would we manage to afford a £13k + wedding Shocked without saving before hand.

Now times have changed and whilst not being in work im looking at other ways to earn a bit of money. Applying for all the dead end jobs i can every day, lucky to get an acknowledgment. Thats with years of experience in different roles and have decent grades and further training.

Even looked at a bin man job, but needed experience Laughing Rolling Eyes

My mates got dominos which had an advert for that. In summer Im going to between finishing placement and going back to uni and though "I have a car, could be good money".

£5.70ish + 25p/mile Shocked

My friend does it and in a astra and the fuel money barely covers the cost of petrol/tyres etc.

Seriously would have though if you were using your own car it would be £7+ with 30-40p fuel money.

How old are your Groove?

Hope it works out Thumbs Up

Pizza Hut do £6/hr + 80p per delivery for owner-drivers, and as the delivery radius is quite small it should be better.

25p/mile is ridiculous imo.

It gets worse in that you need a special type of insurance, and the employers always expect YOU to buy it, or to ride/drive illegally delivering hot food.

3-4 years ago you could always go self employed as a SE contractor delivering, as you did not have a fixed place of work, but then all your work comes from one place so you MUST be an employee.

A few of the hunters have guns. They make sure all the other hunters have sticks. Now everyone goes out and tries to bring home some meat. The chaps with the guns don't only hunt directly, they also take meat from the chaps with the sticks. That's when the chaps with the sticks actually catch anything, because there are more hunters than animals.

The number of animals is reducing, the number of hunters is increasing.

I'm sure you get the picture.

Solution...get a gun and/or find a miraculously un-tapped area of the prairie (don't hold your breath), and avoid the other chaps with guns.

Is that supposed to be a metaphor or are you actually the Great White Hunter Hetz? Laughing

Ebay + Pirated Software = £££

A couple of years ago I borrowed a copy of Fugawi off a mate, ran off a few copies and flogged them on the blag. Each set of 5 discs would sell for between £40 and £60, and I was knocking out up to 15 sets per day - got to the point where I bought a cd duplicator and thermal printer to keep up with demand.
Then I got a pre-release copy of Solidworks, that sold on eblag for £400+ (retail cost was a few grand!) - I sold many, many copies of that and did rather well out of it. I did this for a living over a period of 2 years and made more doing this than any job I've had. I stopped when it got to the point where I knew I'd be proper, proper fucked if I got caught.

Summary - get a copy of some software that isn't widely available due to cost and knock out loads of copies on Ebay. Thumbs Up
