Hi,

I have been hanging around a while but this is my first post here.

I was just wondering if anybody has ever dealt with the company https://www.moovover.co.uk/. They seem to have very good prices but i'm unsure about quality and lack of brand name.

If they are rubbish, has anybody got any suggestions of good jacket and pant combo's that come in under £200? (leather preferred)

Thanks in advance,

Andrew

I'd recommend looking for a decent set on ebay, then getting them altered to fit. I'd ideally look for a set of crowtree or other similar ones that were sold as 'made to measure' in the first place - these tend to be much better quality. Big names like Dianese can often be pretty poor quality.

If you're not planning to get it altered to fit; should always try it on first. Badly fitting leathers can cause/allow injury as they move around when you crash.

Most of the stuff seems to be the same as GP Leathers. Wonder if they're the same company.

Whosthedaddy: Thanks, not sure why my search didn't return anything! Maybe as i just put the website in the search box?

Ant132: Looking at the contact pages they have two different addresses so not sure, the kit/prices are nearly identical though. Thanks for posting that link, looking at the trading address of GP Leathers they are not too far from me so may give them and ring and see if i can pop down.

As he was looking the year before last, your advice may be a bit late Wink. Still useful to know however, of course.

I got a set with Arc-on On. During my spill the other day (10mph or so) one of the seems completely split open on the trousers. I contacted arc-on (has been over a year since I bought them) and sent them pics the video they are sending me a replacement suit and he said something about them changing supllier and is sending me a new suit out. The customer service has been pretty good and the suit felt quality with good quality leather it's just the construction I'm not sure about now but by the sounds of it he has had problems with the people that made my suit and have a new supplied now so we will see what this suit looks like.

Hmm thats odd, any refund or exchange that was due when moovover closed was sorted - never had any phonecalls since either and the site was left running for 6 months after closure for warranty reasons. Perhaps a refund was due from GP Leathers (my supplier??)

Yeah thats all well and good if you didnt receive a refund but..

If the company it was returned to (gpleathers) didnt get the suit back or there was a problem they might have been dealing with the refund or exchange.

I know that when Moovover closed there was 1 outstanding refund for a returned suit that was sorted a couple of weeks after it was returned (standard practice as the warehouse checks it all over) and as I said the site was left online for 6 months after it closed down so complaining 9 months after a business has closed that a company is not trustworthy is IMO a little bit late.

IMO THAT IS B.S. The 'money' was said on many occassions to have been sent. Each call heard the same promise..."its being dealt with by the bank...blah blah"
IMO that was a SERIES of simple and unashamed lies. Did the money get back to the customer. No. Fact.
So when someone on a chat forum asks after a month, 2 months or even ten years if they have anything to say about a particular Company or product....people can offer their advice based upon their experiences....Mine is that Moovover and its owner and their subsequent business trading names are not worthy of my business based upon my experience. I offer nothing more than clear and unbiased, factual opinion of how I was treated.
I hope these chats have been of beneficial interest to others seeking information about you and your companies and who can now, by your replies, see that you'd sooner argue with a customer in public than seek clarification to resolve any issues they might have.
I am a business man and prefer to offer unreserved customer care to my customers. I wish you all the success you deserve.

I am not arguing with anyone, simply pointing out that your only just sorting out a refund from at best 9 months ago for a company that closed 9 months ago.

No attempt to phone, email, private message, carrier pigeon etc.

Sorry but if you are looking for a refund on a product that was returned more than 9 months ago and no method of tracking if it was returned of course im not going to offer.

If you believe you have been treated unfairly that is your prerogative and I am sorry but each of my customers (it seems other than you) gave good feedback on the service and product I sold - until I had to close the business due to the recession. Oh and GP Leathers is still trading as it is not the same company so they were not simply trading names.

It would appear that my refund had coincided with the closure of your business. I therefore believe my statement to be true. You closed down (prior to recession not because of it) and started anew and thought you'd forget about your customers existing customers...a common business practice. Mask the truth all you like....you In My Opinion are untrustworthy.

Haven't dealt with bunglehaze before so can't argue either way, but the recession has been in effect for well over 9 months so it is feasible he closed due to it.

Stop posting and whining about a company that doesn't trade any more. You've registered today, and made 6 posts basically saying the same thing. Rolling Eyes

Closed due to the recession, then started up again under a new name? How odd, that's SOP for fraudulent companies who have ripped off a bunch of people under the old name. Thinking

No need for that Hograt. You posted on a public forum which you have only just joined and attacked an established member for making a fair comment.
I don't blame you for being annoyed about your leathers but maybe if you don't want anyone else to pass comment you should continue this conversation using the private message facility.

To be honest I would just let this conversation drop off the forums, I piped up in the first place and have still not had so much as a private message from this guy giving me name/order details so any chance he had that I might have looked into it has passed.

hograt1000, you have had until December 2009 to follow up on this refund (after which the website and email was taken offline) which you have not and by not I mean not a single email, phonecall or similar, the company ceased trading 9 months ago and is not trading now OR planning to trade again.

If you want to find an ombudsman who will deal with this after so long please pass it to them along with your name and address, receipt of purchase and the last time you got in contact - otherwise STFU attacking people on a public forum who are simply sick of hearing you bleat on.

Are/were you anything to do with the two companies? You seem to have been involved with the last one and are now trading with the new one?
