So 3500 would be a rip off then would it?
That parkers guide is bullshit at times though.Ive used it for selling 2 of my own bikes in the past and it always undervalues....massively.
This bike ( and others like it) are all advertised for around 3500 to 3800.
Went looking at another today and managed 200 quid off when i asked on a price for cash.
What does everyone think? 3500 worth paying?
i dont think theres much chance of haggling a dealer down from 3700 to 2750 or even 3000

Yeah like i said its quite general.

Its tricky to find a bike which is around the 'Private Good' price alot of the times, but gives a good idea to within a couple/few hundred pounds depending on the bike.

Why do people ask for a "cash price"? In most circumstances its more hassle, and costs more the company more for cash rather than just a debit card.

Given i paid just over 3K for a 07 Versys with 6K on the clocks the price sounds about OK.
Remember you won't be able to get much knocked off the price as many dealers will have been sitting on the bike for a while and need to recoup what they paid for it. Plus its now comming upto the peak buying season.

TBH, a bike is worth what you are prepared to pay. If you like it, then pay it. If not walk away.

Cash price = No P/X... NOT paying in notes.... Only a fool pays in notes.
In fact many dealers won't take cash over a certain amount, as its a security risk and could land them in trouble with forged notes.

Most dealers these days make more on finance - a % of your APR goes to the dealer - and remember with finance you are taking a service, they're not doing it out of the kindless of their hearts, you are paying for that money.

Agree that cash offers tend to be hassle free though - quick and easy, no chance of finance failing/deposits/waiting for forms and stuff.

Another question.

If you had to make a choice between 2 bikes, same model same year, but one had 3000 miles on the clock for about £3500, or one that had no miles and a full 2 year warranty for 4000, which you go for?

I would go for the un reg one. If i could afford the cash.

Never mind the warranty, at least you will know exactly how its been treated.

Might even find that the dealer will give you a better deal as they will be looking to off load the old stuff.
Might not be cash discount. I would be looking at either extras for the bike or some gear.
