RS 125 Paint

Hi,

After many hours in the garage rebuilding the engine my RS 125 is finally running. Now I just have to respray the fairings.

I wondered if anyone can tell me what paint is the best to get close to the original colour, is it a specific colour code or just a general gloss black?? Never had to respray bike fairings before.

I'll be using a compressor with spray gun, not aerosol.

i have a white rs125 2007 model and i couldnt get hold of a paint code for it and i spray cars for a living,aprilia wont give out codes.if its solid black then shouldnt be to hard for a paint supplier to find you a close match.

Thanks, will take my chances wih a gloss black, worst case I take it back down to the plastic and try again!

if your painting raw plastic,then are you going to be using a plastic primer,so the paint stays on the raw plastic?

if aprilia are the same as derbi it will be a paint name not a numeric code

Can highly recommend RS Bike Paints https://www.rsbikepaint.com/en/, as they found me exactly the right 1980s kwacker green for my GPZ600R, without a colour code. Quick and friendly service, and will mix paint to a match a photo or sample if they don't know the exact colour.
