How many can you see?

https://www.digi-camuk.co.uk/tri.jpg

(this whole thing fails if even I didn't get it right)

Including triangles with lines through them.

There are 8 unsegmented ones yes, but how many ones with lines through them?

Hi
I know the answer I got, and the theory of the correct answer but it depends if a line is always a line of separation.
So I dont agree with theory of the correct answer as they including fragmented triangles.

Regards
C

I cheated used my initiative. However, it seems I was along the right lines at the point I gave up because I hadn't quite kept track of which I had counted.

As Charlotte says it depends on how you count them. I see 8 unsegmented triangles .

There are eight. If you want to count multisected you need to specify that type. Rolling Eyes

Ahhh feck you noticed the As before I could say it. Laughing

Edit: There is a third A, but I wouldn't be so sure the "Americans blah blah blah" sentence was included in the original puzzle.

EDIT MOAR: As for multi-sected and not counting As, I got 80 or 81 depending on whether or not I counted the main triangle twice. Embarassed

Jesus, I must be going dyslexic, there are three As. I actually entirely missed the text at the bottom. Shocked

What else have I missed. The whole lot's in a square, isn't it? Laughing

Ten triangles. Praying

Turns out the answer is actually 64. However I still can't think of a logical reason I counted 16 over that. I didn't mistake 4 sided shapes and I tried my darndest not to double count. Sad

Multisected don't count, they're just included by the kinds of dorks who create these puzzles because they think they're clever.

Erm, obviously need to cheat differently, as my connection to the matrix must be faulty because - err, I can see 7 'unsegmented' * triangles along the bottom, where's the 8th?

* I naturally presumed any triangle, regardless of lines, goblins or other irregularities inside.

Who established that? Confused You claim it. So tell us where you see twelve pure triangles?

There are seven within the multisected source triangle and three within the letter As.

3 long upside down ones either side at the bottom. one in the middle at the bottom, and the whole thing is a triangle (yes this has lines inside it but no lines cross the outside. )

When I first looked at it properly I saw 28. How the hell 64 are there I don't know.

Now I look at it and see 36, now 42.

But your number 9 has many lines in.
However, they all have blue in, so none of them count.
