Recently my bike was fully taken apart since it was a project bike and I'm not entirely sure how some parts on it are put back together, my main issue at the moment is getting the break pads back in to the callipers so I can then get my wheels back on.

On this 50cc bike there are pins/springs which are meant to go inside the callipers with the pads but I don't have a clue how these would go in. Attached are some images of the rear calliper, pads and the pins/springs that need to go in. Does anyone have any idea how to refit them?

at a guess i would say, place the pads inside the calipers, squeeze the end of each pin where the end is just the small right angle end, push that through the caliper then the pads then the other side of the caliper. that right angle leg would then hook round the outside of the caliper and the other end with the z shaped end would stop you from pushing the pin all the way through.

although your first picture doesnt show much of the caliper. like sexy sugartits says, get a better picture.

Updated first post with clearer picture of the calliper and have now put the pads and and put one of the pins through the pads and the other side of the calliper however the pin moves slightly side to side and doesnt grip onto the edges which from memory I believe it did.

Attached are a couple of images with on of the pins threaded through the components showing how much is now sticking out both sides.

They didn't seem to be in right since they had alot of freeplay in them but I pulled them out and compared it to the other ones and they are ever so slightly different I didn't notice...I feel like an idiot.
Any way problem now solved and brake problem now sorted as well as one wheel now fitted
