Regardless of whether the reasoning behind going to war was just, the brave men and women that are fighting abroad didn't have a choice. I'm shocked at how little respect they get for fighting for their country and often dieing as such.. You might not know anyone that has died but others like myself do.. Decent, honest people. Show some respect.

What's there to respect about genocide?

I'm shocked at how people assume that the armed forces are doing good despite the clear evidence of the suffering the coalition forces are causing. It's also surprising how people seem to follow in the footsteps of parents without thinking for themselves.

Western coalition forces at work.

Eh ?...

They had a choice not to sign up for the armed forces, what did they think might happen in the ARMED FORCES, that they were going to appear as extras on Bad Lads Army ?...

And before you jump on any bandwagon, I have friends and family in the army, a mates Son passed out only the other week and was told he'd be over there later in the year, he's knows that and has accepted it, his Father not so much, but he knows the dangers and accepts that is what his Son wants to do...

So, yeah, they do have a choice...If you mean they didn't have a choice because of politics then see above, they know of the dangers but CHOOSE to sign up and serve...

They did have a choice NON of them were conscripted. They signed the contract to see the world and learn new things and that's what there doing.
Nobody forced them to sign up.
They made there job choice and there getting paid the same as everyone else.

IMO there not fighting for their country there fighting for Americas right to own all the oil in the world. If we were fighting to give the less fortunate freedom and better lives we would be in North Korea liberating the work camps or Africa getting rid of Mugabe.

With regards to them having a choice and not being conscripted, yes i agree, but i'm merely pointing out that they don't have a choice in which wars to fight in, and the rights and wrongs in relation. It seems to me that it should be the government you've got a problem with and not the men and women that put their lives on the line day in day out.

If the thread's merely pointing out the futility of trying to control numbers then people like yourself should stop disrespecting the dead and the lads and lasses still fighting out there. Fair enough, you don't agree with the war, but this is about respect, something people in this thread don't seem to be bothered about, so if you've got nothing decent to say why not just keep stum?

Sorry, I've just read through what I've posted and I can see no evidence of me being disrespectfull to the dead...

And I haven't mentioned whether I'm for or against the war...

Re-read what I've put...Always helps to read before you type a response...

And with regards to your Ratings, how is anything I've written ' Abusive ' ?...

Nice to see BCF point out that invading peoples countries and killing anyone who tries to resist the occupation does not make you a hero, but a murdering bastard.

Of course not all soliders get to kill someone, but they all want to, it's why they joined up.

Obviously getting killed or injured in the line of duty is less fun, but as mentioned, they knew about that too.

Are you in the armed forces yourself, or are your parents in the armed forces?
