Really,
Well, thats good then as the starter wasnt whirring much. i have another battery i can try tomorrow
Sadly it wont fit in the bike but it will do to try out.
Strange thing is the lights seem okay without the engine running...
Maybe the battery just isnt holding enough power to give the starter the umpffhhh...
I think i will no doubt get the starter off later to check it out, want to go over the this bike and make sure everythings in good order (hope it will last a while ) so preventative maintainance is the name of the game.
Will let you know if it helps.

Would agree with what's being said above, if the battery doesn't have enough juice to spin the starter motor properly then the centrifugal gear won't engage, hence the engine won't turn over  |

^^^ Possible both batteries were gubbed ... if you are 100% sure one of the batteries was ok then I'd you should be able to take starter motor out without having to take the engine out ... a little less work

Yes sir, you are indeed correct
Loverly little nsr, pannel off, engine side case, 2 bolts and it should drop out we hope... Or at least thats what the manual says heh.
Will give it a shot on the weekend
