After a few months of my mother telling me I need to do my driving test I turned round and said F**K it if your paying I will do it Laughing and she said yes, so now I've got to book my car theory test Evil or Very Mad and get some lessons in, I bloody hate cars but it's a good idea to get a car licence I suppose is the car theory much different to the bike and do I need to know the braking distances Question should I even bother studying for it or just do the theory and hope Laughing

Study for it. I wouldn't expect you to be able to write your own name without revising.

You definitely need to study for the test and learn your stopping distances.

Otherwise you may as well just give the £20 to the next tramp you see.

Good luck!

Laughing , i like that...

Btw cars are wicked! Id say almost on a par with bikes. In general though, id say bikes are slightly more fun. Very Happy

Too much bias towards bikes on this forum. You've got to open your mind abit.

Doing your car test will definitely be worth it!!!

Good luck Thumbs Up. And revise...

Good luck matey Smile

Cars aren't that bad, although I'm looking forward to getting my bike and not having to wait in poxy traffic queues or pay for parking. I found as well another good thing to look over for the theory test is what all the different traffic signs mean. I'm sure one or two came up when i did it.

And this is quantified by how much driving experience? Laughing

I do love the way 'cars' are generalised. As with bikes, there are fast ones and slow ones, good ones and bad ones, cheap ones and expensive ones, fun ones and boring ones.

So what will you do when you need to move something from A to B which is too big to fit on the back of a bike?

What will you do when you need to give more than 1 person a lift to somewhere?

Cars do have their good points. Bikes do have their good points. They both also have their bad points, and to generalise so much is fairly pointless. I plan on learning to drive a car once I'm able to be. Well, if it wasn't for people with cars, I wouldn't be able to go anywhere at the moment as I'm not allowed to ride my bike and going pillion on one doesn't strike me as a good plan whilst my balance is still not right.

Yes bikes do cost less to have fun on, but fun isn't the only thing in the world which you need to be able to do with your mode of transport.
