Dead Clutch

Hi Chaps,

Bit of advice/help needed if possible!?

My bike (03 RSV-R) has been left standing over the last 6 months or so, I have been firing her up every few weeks to keep her happy.

Anyway I got her out this weekend because she’s due an MOT and I wanted to make sure she was running well, only to fined out my clutch has turned into a spongy nothingness! I'm aware that air in the clutch is common on the RSV but mine is unrideable, it's virtually impossible to even engage 1st..

Any ideas what the problem could be?

well, common sense would tell you to bleed your clutch.....

Also check for any leaks around the master and slave cylinders. Also check for any bulges in the pipe (if its standard rubber) and replace the fluid just by bleeding some new stuff through.

Do as the man says and bleed your clutch ... also get yourself a manual or a mate to give you a hand ... you only learn by doing Thumbs Up

Another vote for bleeding the clutch, but a leaky seal as timmy mentions is also a good possibility.
