Just noticed that the exhaust I have on the bike doesn't have any markings on it at all, With the mot coming up i'm a bit confused as to what if any markings need to be on it.

Some people say that it HAS to have the E mark on it, others say as long as it doesn't have NOT FOR ROAD USE stamped on it i should be ok.

If its a case of the first, Will one of the exhaust E mark plates off ebay do fine, Or am i best to leave it as it is.

Its something thats confusing me at the moment!

This.

Doesn't need to be E-Marked in my experience, just not have RACE USE ONLY, or NOT FOR ROAD USE on it.

However "The decibel level will be assessed at the discretion of the tester". So if it's unmarked, but stupidly loud it'll fail.

Thanks.

Another thing I was told, Was that if it was loud, But not stupidly loud, The tester would just put it down as an advisory on the MOT.

As you say, it would be an advisory.

On the last 2 MOT for my bike, it had an advisory, which says: Exhaust loud but not excessive. (lovely D&D)

If my Scorpion can had "Not for Road Use" stamped on it under the tail pipe bit I would just cover it with a covertly cut piece of sticky back silver vinyl Cool

It would pass no problem Thumbs Up

The only markings it has on it are the scorpion logo on the tailpipe and the scorpion logo on the side.

This is the exhaust in question.

I've yet to meet one person who's bike has failed an MOT for an aftermarket exhaust. Many get advisory's, but that seems to be the worst you get.

So how about if I was running with no end can what so ever?

My bike sounds so cool like that (V-twin8o)) but surely they can't turn that much of a blind eye to noise or emissions?
