Honda cbr400rr

IN my local area i have seen a honda cbr400rr it looks nice and clean and in good nick with a nice looking end can. It also started up nicely and appeared to run well. However it has 60,000 km which is about 37000 miles, is this fine for that bike, is there anything i should look out for. Is is advertised at 850 ono which compared to the bikes on ebay seemed cheap. Also what mpg do they get, and are they ideal for a begginner with a restrictor kit.

Is it the NC23 or NC29? I'm guessing a 29 from the price. I have an NC23 that I'm waiting to use (need to resit my test first though =/) I got it with 18,800km on the clock and a full years MOT for £700 in fairly decent nick

37k is probably fine, providing it's been well looked after. Same as anything really. I can't advise you on how good it is for day today use, but as for handling, a magazine once said 'If you can't get your knee down, it's probably snowing'

yeh cheers it looks fun to ride, but i dont know if it is worth it as my commute to college is very short, and i know i am best of staying with my 125 but i want something new and 33bhp when i pass my test which is this wednesday.

I've been looking at a lot of 400s and have come to the conclusion that so many of them are clocked that you shouldn't worry about the mileage. That actually sounds like a realistic distance for the age, I'm sure most of the ones around 15-20,000 have done at least that anyway. I looked at one ad for a CB1 where the owner had said they'd been "using the bike to commute 150 miles a week for 4 years with no problems". The mileage on the bike was 50,000km....on a 19 year old bike....that by my calculations had done 30,000 miles in the last 4 years So it must have covered literally 0 miles in it's first 15 years

I've got an nc23 just ticked over to 69,000km on the clock and i paid quite a bit more than £850, i'd get it if i were you

Ive got an NC29, got 22k on the clock but was converted to read in miles at 12k. Mine doesnt run right as in its running rich but seems to do high 30s no probs.

Ive put a cbr600 rear shock on my and it really does turn well now as well.
