Obviously the more that you have ridden, the most choice you will have. For me personally I have never been out of the country on my bike yet so my choices are:

(1) - A72 Lanark - Hamilton. Twisty road I know quite well, very close to where I live. Ideal for a Sunday morning (or any time of the week) blast.

(2) - B7040 - B797 Elvanfoot - Sanquhar. Very hazard-filled road, best advised to ride very slowly on, but the scenery is amazing. The best views I have even seen whilst on a bike.

A832 from Kinlochewe to Gairloch. Miles of empty, sweeping and well surfaced roads with miles of visibility ahead and fantastic views.

I would have said Glencoe up to 2 weeks ago. Now the best road, well 2 of them for me is the SS21 from Italy to the French border, 20 hairpins one after the other which leads onto the D902 in France.

This, but I'd take it all the way from where the single track finishes on the Lochcarron to Achnasheen road so as to incorporate the fastest road in Britain.

Also the main road that runs the full length of Shetland mainland.

Dont really go out of my way to find nice roads

But when I went to Brighton I took the A29 / B2139 / A24
Same amount of miles if you take the A27 but some nice veiws/corners and saves getting a flat spot.

The D767 from Corley to Guingamp (Brittany).
Nothing spectacular or especially stunning view-wise, just a fantastic stretch of road which mixed tight twisty sections with open flowing sections.

We were headed to Guingamp, but the road was so much fun that we turned around, rode back to Corley and then rode back to Guingamp again.

My enjoyment was only slightly marred on the final leg when a wasp flew down my jacket and stung me repeatedly.

For riding I really enjoyed going up the Martigny to Aosta (Great St Bernard) pass in the Swiss Alps. Some pretty nice scenery, but having far too much fun to take pictures/stop.
Some of the more famous passes seem to be hairpin-straight-hairpin-straight and repeat, but this had a good variation of different types of corners.

An idea of the road:

Stelvio is not a great road really, it's just hairpin after hairpin, they're tight and the camber isn't great and it's rammed with other bikes and cars all over the road so you can't really ride that quickly unless you see crashing as an accomplishment. Hairpins don't make a road great, sweeping bends where you can keep your speed up and see what's coming with a few nice tight bends thrown in to mix it up is what's good. Sustenpass and Grimsel pass, Furkapass are some of the best I found, col du vars and the col du petit st bernard.

The road from Thurso to Durness can be fun.

Let's see, any cars coming on this pristine, hot, dry, twisty road for the next 10 miles?
https://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f216/stinkwheel/summer%202009/dscn0128.jpg

Then the bit from Durness to Ullapool.
How can I be expected to ride my motorcycle on roads like this. Do you have any idea how expensive tyres are these days?

Couldn't agree more,

Stelvio has the reputation but tbh it's sh*t. Too busy, too crowded, too cold.

TBF most of the roads in Scotland especially in the highlands are sooo nice.

The twisty part of the road to Applecross is superb, but every road is a pleasure to ride, even roads from like Fort agustas to inverness.

I know im only on a 50cc lol but there are some good roads in berkshire and south Oxfordshire for riding (doesnt compare to some of the amazing pictures of roads that some guys have ridden). heres where I ride.

A338 between Hungerford and Wantage
The B4494 (Chain Hill)
B4507-B4000-B4001 loop (pass white horse hill a great place to stop and take a look)
