newbie just finished 1st motorcycle rebuild

Hi all,

I am Ian from the UK. I have for many years, spent my spare time rebuilding classic cars but recently thought I'd try my hand at a bike. I had always wanted a Suzuki GP100 since my cousin had one when I was a lad, I remember thinking it was funky!

My bike came as a rebuild project but was running. The engine has been rebuilt with new seals, bearings, gaskets etc, the frame and swingarm were professionally blast cleaned and powder coated. While waiting for the frame to come back, I set to purchasing new lights, mudguards, needle-roller steering bearings, battery, swing arm bushes, etc. Once the frame returned, looking superb I might add, I set to slowly and painstakingly restoring every part before being refitted with new stainless nuts and bolts where applicable.

What I have now is a great little commuter machine and a little headturner in its original colour scheme. I have since purchased two more GP's so it looks like the bug has bitten bad.
The only downside is this one has to go now so I have the room to build the others

Looks like a really nice job you've done there. It all looks pretty much brand new! Why not try rebuilding a different, maybe larger bike? I would have thought restoring lots of the same model would get a bit boring...

Thanks for your comments. Plans are afoot for a Kawasaki KE175 and Honda CB250RS (Dad had them both) in the near future but fancy something bigger when Im more used to working on bikes.
