That's the sensible bit- that suggests that those countries who do restrict will be the ones brought into line, simply because there's no reason for it.

What a load of bollocks, surely that's blatent discrimination against bikes, it's not like they're also suggesting limiting all cars to 300bhp!

Also out of interest what happens if we go on a biking holiday to france with over 100bhp? Are you supposed to temporarily restrict your bike or are the rules different for vistors?

Germany will not allow it. Not when BMW have just built the most powerful production bike in the world.

Also it's a story in MCN and as such is probably either years out of date or mostly fictional.

Has been repeatedly proposed for the last 20 years or so. The unelected Commision keep trying it on. Trouble is they only need to get lucky once with it.

Surely its pretty un-enforcable much like the 33bhp rule? And what would they do with all the 101+bhp bikes already out there?

If they wanted to then they would just mandate something to prevent it being tuned. Such as a hardened steel restrictive insert cast into the inlets.

As to the more powerful bikes already out then, most will have been crashed and destroyed within 10 years or so, so not really an issue.

Different for visitors only bikes registered in France, ergo Ducati 999R man I met in Castellane had a UK registered ducati in France, and I took my CBR600 which is probably 101bhp (claimed 109bhp).

And it was ok.
