TL1000R tyre opinions?

Just bought a TL1000R and it will shortly need a new set of tyres. Any recommendations?

That's because your bike has no torque.

2k is about right for a litre bike ridden hard on soft tyres.

I'm currently liking Diablo Corsas and have decided to try out some Diablo Corsa IIIs.
These offer good grip from cold, good grip in the wet and very good grip in good conditions - however won't last long.

I have just finished off a pair of Dunlop Qualifier II's on my TL1000R. They were brilliant tyres, managed 2800 miles including 1 track session on them.
Superb in the dry, very good and predictable in the wet. I like them so much im fitting another pair.

It depends if you define 'decent' by the grip or by how long it lasts.

If I didn't care about having decent grip on my sports bike, I'd, well, not have a sports bike probably .
I've paid extra for a good performing bike and as I don't do a massive number of miles I'm happy to pay even more to have tyres that make the most of the bike.

Conti Road Attacks are a sport touring tyre and should last 6k on a 600. They could last much less on big twin or IL4 superbike.

The don't offer the grip or performance of Michelin Power One or 2CTs / Bridgestone BT-016 / Pirelli Diablos etc. These would probably last close to 4k miles on your 600, but could easily be chewed up in under 2k miles on a litre sports bike.

If it was a choice of grip or durability, I'd choose grip any day, especially on a bike with bags of torque (such as a TL).

Currently running some cheap chink tyres on the zx, stuck them on to get me through winter when funds were tight. ( have used powers, corsa's/III, avon vipers, all the 'fast road' style rubber)

Been suprised at the amount of grip they offer, also did a trackday on them round mallory for a laugh, no moments on track either! Seem to have got about 6k out of the rear and its still good for another 1k miles id say!

Thats on a 600 IL4, wouldnt know if they were good on a larger capacity bike, but ive been quite happy with them...

my riding just doesnt eat tyres, i accelerate enough to get up to speed of current area... dont really hammer the crap out of any bike.
My 125 had tyres last over a year.. my 500, admittedly written off, had a new rear when i bought it and it still look damn near mint and has done 3k (conti twist) i mean the tread is.. still HUGE
