I did the Wooten Bassett ride on my busa and I was i absolute agony at the end of it.
May be its time for me to grow old gracefully and give up sports bikes. I have (not for long) a Triumph tiger 955i and love the seating position.
A 1050 tiger maybe instead. Does anyone else here have adveture bikes they really love?

I went down to Somerset to sit on the new Mulitstrada, as it's the only adventure bike I can actually get on without a stepladder!!
Very nice and if I had the money I would like to add that to the Tonka Collection! I'm quite glad of the change in riding position between the road bike and the offroad bike though, as it's a great reminder that I mustn't throw the SV about like the Serow! ____________________ 'The core of a man's spirit comes from new experiences'

I've [still] got a Super Tenere 750 in pieces in my shed.
Best bike I ever had, loved it.
Would have another big trailie in a minute, and would rather think about taking something like that touring, than go on one of them bent-over sports bikes.

Good point, hadn't considered stripping all the junk off
Although yeah, now you mention it, I have a mate who had a silverwing, which we teased him about, but which he stripped, so yeah ... maybe.
Still ... not just yet, eh.

The 955i I always thought had a pretty horrible riding position - long and low bars. I don't mind low bars if they're fairly close to the seat on a sports bike. Or long bars if they're not too low (my zx9 was fine and had a bit of a reach). Even the two together it's not a big issue for all-out riding, but not great for sitting in traffic.
One of the reasons I got the GSXR is it's got one of the least-extreme riding positions of the major sports bikes.
Oh and I have an 'adventure' bike that I like - but it's a bike for adventuring, not posing outside a cafe . |

Surely the Hayabusa isn't a young person's bike. You'd have to be having a midlife crisis to buy one of those hideous bulbous abominations ____________________ The RXS100: vehicle of choice for Chuck Norris |
