Been registered here for a while but your few previous posts amount to "help please" and "I'm selling...".

In short, this is just spam really. You're not an active member trying to do something helpful and new.

I'll take take this 'dated' site over a fancy new one with no posts or posters anyday.

Whats the point of having a fancy forum if no one posts on it.

No, actually, it started from another fairly popular forum and that started from people visiting the NSR125.com site because it offered useful information on a subject.

Personally, I do think it's a bit rude to advertise your 'rival' forum in one of the same genre. As far as I know the only 'advertising' in any way like that BCF got was a note on bike manuals purchased on ebay that if they wanted further help or general bike banter, to try BCF.
If it's a case of an area of niche knowledge, it's a lot more understandable - for instance if you've set up a UK Honda Bros information site with a forum.

Further it does seem silly that so many people try and seemingly create new forums for the sake of it - or in some cases they seem to like the power/prestige they presume is associated.

To be honest there are so many other forums available nowadays that it is hardly worth trying to set up a new one that is as G say not a niche market. 5 or so years ago the intertubes were still building up new forums rapidly but this slowed considerably over the last few years.

Its one of the reasons I dont put any effort into building the forum on Bikechatter and have BCF on my links page, the community on here (harsh and obtuse at times) is overall very good and as such its the only bike forum I have time to post on.

Oh and a few thoughts.
Do your research before creating a forum ‘features’ are not where it’s at, as suggested, users using it are.
Having lots of disperate sections is NOT a good way to get users talking. Start with very few sections, this will get people talking as they see lots of threads.
This looks like you’ve just copied other bike forums, rather than doing some research on how to make a useful and successful forum.
There’s no ‘viewall’ function, which means you’re already behind BCF on useful features to my mind.

Your main website is in Flash and took an age to load.
Seriously, if you want to market yourself as a ‘boutique’ kind of business, a site made in flash is kinda acceptable. The rest of the time, it’s not, especially when it’s rather clunky with bits that don’t work. Designer sunglasses website = flash ok; home motorbike site = flash is annoying.
It has an intro. In a very few cases this is slightly excusable – for instance advrider has an interesting random user’s picture which often is worth viewing. Yours doesn’t, so it’s not excusable.

One of the reasons I stay here. You can actually read the posts, instead of having my eyes raped by twattish sigs and humungous flashing/animated avatars that take up half the screen.

It's the content that's important, not how many colours or smilies you have available.
