Trouble is, the joke is based around the whole concept of excessive performance being unnecessary...and this is a motorbike forum Laughing

Tragically unfunny, but I can laugh at the disdain for sportscar owners shown by those who cannot afford them. The bitterness stands out a mile Laughing

Why is there no "crap" rating? Thinking

Quite Silver. Personally I'm glad McLaren is launching a new supercar off their own back. We don't have enough UK car makers anymore. Most end up going under (yes TVR I'm talking to you).

How long before they release a hypercar to challenge the Veyron?

Not everyone thinks like you, some people see insecurity and snobbery in materialism... you see biterness, hey ho, at the end of the day life is a load of shit, so less of the smug and on with...

...but buying that car might not be a materialistic thing, you may actually really enjoy driving and want the performance.

These kind of attitudes are always held by people who can see no reason to buy a fast car or bike beyond trying to impress other people. This says a lot more about them than about the people buying the vehicles.

Agreed. We all ride fast bikes (well, for the most part). But even a brand new Fireblade fully decked out with every trick part is about 12k.

Anyone buying any Desmodeci's off of here? And why would we? Bang for buck, essentially.

Same thing with cars. Dropping 100k on a car is madness, but you can argue you're getting performance. After that it's about the name and prestige.

Transfer this to designer clothes and you see the lunacy.

Thanks for the welcome Mr Shand.

Link was just meant to be light hearted, I apologise if some found it boring or took it the wrong way. Having said that I do agree with the poster above above. But each to their own, whatever someone chooses to do with their own money is up to them, and as long as they are not hurting anyone else it is none of my business Thumbs Up
