Hi.
Remember to cancel your indicators, I'm fairly sure that is an instant fail (serious/dangerous fault). Other than that just ride well and don't be nervous. Remember to use safety checks/lifesavers and keep a car doors distance away from parked cars, the examiners love that. Razz
Good luck!

Its really not as bad as you think. I actually really enjoyed my test, just dont think of it as a test..and never wait for the examiner, infact pretend that hes not there and you've just got the radio on Wink.

Seriously though its nothing bad at all, try and enjoy yourself and show them how you ride. Talking to yourself can be quite handy to, things like 'check, signal, move, signal off..carry on' etc..

Also as said before, just focus and dont let silly things (indicators left on for 2 miles) let you down because your worrying too much.

thanks again!

Try not to ride like you've been on the (reggae reggae) sauce.

Just don't forget your lifesavers, like, before you get to a parked car, if its like a parked lorry or large vehicle give it a look back to see if its safe to move back in, appropriate observations when turning and on roundabouts etc, remember to stick to the speed limits, and just think of the examiners voice as a sat nav and just ride like you normally would Smile and i just did mirror checks around every 15 seconds, oh and remember not to cut any corners Very Happy

GL with your test Thumbs Up

edit: i passed 1st time with no training

The way you will get an instant fail is if you make another road user(cyclist and pedestrians included) change direction or speed, so if you leave your indicator on and it doesnt effect anyone you will only get a minor, also remember your obs, i had my test on wednesday with no training and i passed, i was really nervous before the test but once you start riding all the nerves will all go away.

Stick to the speed limits, but dont go to slow, doing a 40 in a 60 is a major, will fail you.

Hey guys, thanks for all your help, sorry i havent replyed ive been busy with sorting bike out and work, unfortunately i failed. by 1 fault, got no majors, but the score sheet was slightly dodgy i think, i did everything safely, and i got 4 ON signaling, 1 on change direction and 1 on change speed, dont understand how i get 1 in every other observation but signaling when i checked all the time, and a few for using my front brake :S, and i had one for undue hesitation when it said give way, and there was a car turning right on the crossroads, and i had to stop becasue i couldnt see left or right casue there was parked cars, but oh well, ill book it for 6th april and hopefully pass, got me baby FZS600 sitting in the garage waiting for me Razz

thanks for the help guys.

Chin up fella, I failed my first one too. And got so convinced I'd failed my second one I gave up halfway through - then passed with 3 minors.

relax and enjoy it.

I went the wrong way right at the start of my test (not a fail in itself) on my test, and as I though 'booger, thats it then' relaxed into the test, we went on a non standard test route (he had to stop and check his map as he wasn't a local) and passed. Despite us both being agressively cut up b a transit on the B&QW roundabout (famous in Rotherham).

Check out the fail list - its all about doing good observation, not speeding, and not affecting other road users. You can do it.

I failed my first time. Pulled out when i should have waited which was a silly mistake and it made me more nervous for the next time. Like people have already said, You know you can ride.. When your on your test try to forget the guy following you. Obviously you can't completely because he is telling you what to do. Make sure all your mirror checks and life savers are blaitenly obvious.

But for the advise your looking for, Good luck and you'll be fine. Thumbs Up
