Most of us have had loads of bikes, some you can't wait to see the back of, but others you form a weird sort of attachment with and kind of miss them. They may not be the "best" bike you've ever owned but there's something about them, lol.

Sounds like I've caught the ghey but I'm sure you'll know what I mean.

For me, its these two.

DT125R, was my first "proper" bike after owning a scooter. I did about 14,000 miles on it over about a 18 months and even passed my A2 on it. I still see it around occasionally, would love to buy it back:

Cagiva Planet, bought it last year as a non runner with a blown crank for £200 in a load of boxes. Fully rebuilt the engine, plastic welded the front mudguard and resprayed it. Then I rode it to the Isle of Wight from Bristol before even running it in with the Mrs riding as pillion. It coped really well going along the M4 on the way there and it never skipped a beat the whole time. Rode it for about a month after I got back and unfortunately had to sell it Sad. It was really fast for a 125 and was very comfortable and practical. Would love to buy it back also:

What about you?

I miss my old KLR600:

https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/serenaur/bike0012.jpg

It was my first big bike and I'd always wanted a proper trailie. I've got loads of mates who live up on farms up in the hills and I used to love ragging the KLR up the forestry tracks to their houses and of course with them living up in the hills they'd know all these cool little trails we'd ride.

Sure the it was restricted to 33bhp, the rear shock was a bit soft, the electrics weren't very reliable and I eventually holed the engine but the memories I have on this bike were great. Particularly fond of this picture of the morning me and Bonny rode up to a Llyn Ogwen at 4am as we were both suffering a bit of insomnia when he was in uni.

https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/serenaur/Chillin.jpg

I sold it to a guy down the street where I used to live who I think fixed the hole in the engine then rode it as a winter hack before trading it in for something else. One of my mates told me he'd seen it in a shop on Deeside a few years ago and that's the last I've heard or seen of it Sad Always wanted to supermoto it!

This, because viewed through my rose tinted spectacles I remember it being a lot of fun...

And this because they're great bikes and I want another one now (well, an NC29 anyway)...

I spent an absolute fortune on this. Taught me how to wheelie, get my knee down, stoppie and had nearly 70,000 miles on it.

Owned for 4 years then kindly written off by a twat in a rover. I will have another zxr400.

The three I fondly remember are the CB250RS, the XJ900F and the AJS M16 350cc. I think I bonded with those the most.

I was thinking about this the other day.

My first ZX7R will always be my most missed bike:

https://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff267/yellaninja/Yellow%20ZX7R/7r6.jpg?t=1269177648

....but I'm also missing the DRZ400 I had as a second bike, it was probably the most 'fun' bike I've had, even though I've had bikes with top speeds of almost double:

I miss loads of my old bikes, but none more so than my Fizzy, which was my first road bike.

My Yamaha XT660X , wiped out by a van driver in mid day when he was facing me just before he turned across my path Confused '' sorry mate i didnt see you''

Didnt even make it to its 6000 mile service Crying or Very sad i loved that bike so much ...and ive only just started walking/ limping again yesterday, 38 days after.

I hate Vauxhall Vivaro's , not spongy enough.

I wish I'd kept my old CD175, just because it was cute, and a hoot to ride slowly.

I bought it as a winter hack in fair condition for next to nothing, and when it had done it's job I got rid. Wish I'd have just thrown a few quid at it, tarted it up and kept it for local bimbles, just stuff like down to the Ace and back on sunny Sundays.

(Not the actual one, but just like it)

I gave £100 for it.

It wasn't quite as tidy as the one in the pic, but it wasn't half bad. I didn't fully appreciate it until I'd let it go.

I miss my GSXR7/11.

Stolen a few years back. So much fun and a labour of love to build.

My FZR.

It should've been shit, 50,000 miles when I bought it, pretty poor suspension, no 'MOT' when I bought it, crappy tyres, clearly had been dropped several times.

It did, however, never let me down, dtarted on the button each time, handled beautifully, was comfy for long rides, and more than quick enough to keep up with most bikes on the road. Even performed pretty well on a trackday. If I could've brought one thing back from Aus, it would have been that bike.
