Is it too early for thinking about the forthcoming rally season yet? Seems a long way off but I'm looking forward to doing a few next year, starting with the Dragon in February. Apart from that hopefully the Rock & Bike (never been but looks good) and the Farmyard. Others as time and money dictate! Oh and the BMF Peterborough. Which isn't a rally but I like it Embarassed

What do you have planned for 2010? Any good recommendations from last year?

I won't know what rallies I'm attending untill the new year, my club normally attends the smaller rallies ( such as the Oddballs and The Grubs and such ) I prefer the smaller rallies anyway as it makes for a better weekend, the early NADB was a good weekend last year so we'll be doing that again, I think there's a few of our lot that attend the Farmyard and another big one aswell...

Roll on though either way...Last one I did was the Toad and Dog Ends in November I think it was, down Cirencester way, pissed down all weekend, froze my nuts off during the night but got hammered either way, sat out at three in the morning watching a crystal clear night sky, then got soaked through on the way home the Sunday afternoon, keep saying I'm too old for this shit but I keep doing it...

I've just pulled out of that before my mate ordered the tickets as I've got about six weddings to go to this year with two being in May...

I'm going to order my tickets for Into the Valley on Monday. Looking forward to it. Can't make the Farmyard or the BMF show now this year though.

My first will be 3B's Last Stand near Newbury Easter Weekend.
Then it's Creatures Small Change in Peterborough mid May.
Possibly Horsham Bike Show, Billingshurst in July / Siobhanathon fund raiser, Bedford in August.
Hoping to do Mabon this year, as usually miss it.

Into the Valley was pretty good, weekend just gone. It rained on the way there but the weather was OK for the rest of the weekend. I ate too much, drank too much, but had a cracking time. Bands were decent, and of course there were plenty of interesting bikes to check out.

Due to circumstances beyond my control I've had to cancel my summer holiday, but this has freed up a little time and cash so attending some more rallies is now a realistic proposition. Thinking of the Farmyard and Stormin' the Castle at present, but we'll see what turns up.

Clanger will be pleased to know that I won't be at any of the 3B's rallies/shows. After nigh on 20 years of them I've had my fill (As have all the rest of the 3B's who've left in the last 2 years....about 20 or so in all!!)
Most of the founding members of the 3B's (Now ex 3B's) will be going to The UFO's Far from Sirius rally near Plumpton, West Sussex on the same weekend as the 3B's custom show & a few of them are going to the Pissheads show at Castle Cary on the 29th.
Oh & of course we're off to Holland for our Jay's stag do the weekend of 18th June Very Happy
I hope that those of you reading that go to the 3B's custom have a good time without us. Thumbs Up

I have tickets for Farmyard and Rock and Bike Fest.

I need to get the bike running if I want to actually attend Farmyard Laughing .

Off in the car with the kids to RABF, was a nice little event last year and looks bigger and better this year, can't wait Very Happy

Nothing else for me this year, no spare weekends or money.

I have contacted the organizer. This is designed to be an event for aficionados and prospective ebikers. He is not inviting any manufacturers or vendors. After a little while we came across a group of about 10 riders, again from Canowindra. There were a few kids in the group and they were not moving that fast.

As a regular to the Rally scene since I was 18 now 40 Ive decided im no longer interested in going to them this rally being the cause and effect of this decision.

Im sure some of you reading below will think IM wrong of just plain miserable(maybe Im both but hear me out first)

Id heard alot about this Rally and how good it was and how much fun it was, so me and some friends thought ok we will give it a go, so we did in 2008, I have to say it was mediocre but there were some interesting bikes in the show and at times it was enjoyable, we all said we would give it another go.

2009 comes around and we booked our tickets and off we went....I wish I hadnt, it was dull to say the least, maybe dull was bit harsh, boring was closer to the mark, the stalls were nothing to be interested in and the bands were just as you would expect, pub bands doing tribute songs that all sound the same, maybe i was having a bad day but to top it all off some nasty events unfolded in front of most of us, I wont go in to details but those that were there last year will know what happened, and to be honest over the 22 years of going Ive seen it transpire on more than one occassion, im personally tired and bored of watching it happen, we all go to rallies to have fun not to feel intimidated.

What a great end to a great weekend, and for all you people out there who rave about this Bloody Rally there are better ones with better people and avoid at all costs!!!!

Rant Over - cue the comments!!!!

(D'oh forgot to mention I was on about the 3B's rally)
